    Pros

It has been wonderful to work for a not for profit organization. We have scholarship funds that are available for those who have no insurance or limited insurance coverage for therapy. In addition, Brooks offers CEU coverage in house to continue training in specific treatment areas for their employees.

    Cons

In a large network of outpatient facilities, one would expect better communication between clinics and divisions. The front desk is overworked which puts much of scheduling and authorization questions on the therapists who are already busy with treatment and evaluations. The department who obtains authorizations are understaffed. It seems to take much too long for children and adults to obtain authorization for continued services. This puts delays in progress for patients.

    Advice to Management

Put more money into staffing for individuals to submit for authorizations. Make sure there is enough front desk help to schedule out patients through their authorization periods to avoid delays in care.

    Pros

I worked with a few people I enjoyed.

    Cons

PTL ( You hardly get any PTL) No paid vacations they come out of your pay check.
Management stinks. They are like a snake in the grass, and they are ready to bite you when you aren't looking.
    Lack of Organization
    Lack of growth

    Advice to Management

There are truly some corrupted people that work here and the upper executives seem to cover their eyes. Get rid of them! The atmosphere will be a whole lot better.

    Pros

State of the art equipment and knowledgeable staff. Highly informative in services and trainings. Good cafeteria food.

    Cons

A lack of general compassion for patients. Required to document cookie cutter, mechanical, lots of med-bots. Overall "unfriendly" sense.

    Advice to Management

Offer your employees a mentor or help with new equipment. New people coming in can't just already know all you expect of them. Unrealistic expectations and standards. Stop expecting everyone to document on breaks or go to computer Labs after working all day and stay late. PAY your part time employees a better wage hourly, you wonder why none of them want to shift from PRN and its because you pay poorly for what you demand.

I worked at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital

    Pros

Brooks offers an amazing group of people to work with in a great work environment. IT makes one feel good to come to work every day and help people heal.

    Cons

The pay at Brooks is no where near competitive.

    Advice to Management

Rather than focusing on rapid expansion, address your extremely high turn over rate by offering competitive salaries in ALL areas of the enterprise.

    Pros

The Residents are wonderful and really appreciate what we do for them. The rehab team is a great tight team and do wonderful things for the residents.

    Cons

Terrible management, it is all money driven and the employees do not matter. Pay has been decreased and benefits taken away because they keep buying new businesses. It is all about "getting your minutes" and not about the patient anymore. No support from management or upper management. Constant rotating door with staff because people keep leaving.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that actually know what they are doing and appreciate the staff they have. Hire someone that brings in Moral instead of people that drive people to leave.

    Pros

Good reputation in community quickly being run into the ground by current mgmt

    Cons

Poor mgmt. bullying by management. Lack of support from mgmt. dishonest company. High pressure/stress to make unrealistic numbers for 3 facilities soon to be 4. Not enough help. Poor pay/benefits, favoritism. No positive reinforcement only negative. It is like being beaten with a whip every day. No respect. Treated like work horse. No empathy or kindness toward employee ur just a body to bring in numbers/patients. Greedy. Greedy Greedy. Mgmt has run this once family oriented employer into the ground. Such a shame

    Advice to Management

Do a sweep through of getting rid of upper and middle mgmt. replace with people that actually know how to manage people.

not for profit facility which gives back to its community; various settings to work in as career evolves; great adaptive sports program inclusive of recreation & competitive programming.
