    Pros

Great bunch of people to work with, very knowledgeable work force.

    Cons

Management is a made up with a "boys club" mentality, if your not in the club, you have no future there.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the amount of work employees are doing, a lot of extra work goes unnoticed.

    Pros

All employees were taken care of by upper management.Great pay and benifits. State of the art equipment and people. Never a dull moment.

    Cons

Sold to Quad with a promise of jobs for everyone. As many people out there know that never happens. So when you see the Quad flag go up, get out.

    Advice to Management

    Should have never sold us.

    Pros

Was a decent company to work for wages very competitive . Employees willing to help each other for the common goal. Overtime was available more often then not up till the last year of solvency.

    Cons

Nepotism was evident in management. Questionable qualifications and decisions regarding supervisors and managers ( some just going through the motions once job position locked up )

I worked at Brown Printing full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I enjoy working with my hands and various types of tools along with working machinery and I have a high sense of mechanical ability and I can repair many things, and set up and operate, various types of bindery machinery. And I'm not afraid to learn or try new operations or new machinery procedures

    Cons

Training people that have a hard time understanding the operation, and some jobs or tasks are more difficult to do, some older machines that aren't really user friendly take a little and longer to learn. Office people that try to run a machine who haven't proper training knowledge and understanding of the procedures make more work for every one on the crew and you have to treat every one on the crew with the same respect regardless of how hard the try to do the work, you can't or shouldn't play favorites.

    Advice to Management

If the people know the job well, let them preform their duties with out hassle and provide some type of incentives. be cause a happy employee is a productive employee.

    Pros

Good work/life balance, decent wage, good values.

    Cons

High stress, unbalanced workloads, people in the wrong positions, too much overhead and people in useless positions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the worker bees more often, their point, opinions, and perspectives are valid and come direct from the trenches.
