    Pros

Fun job that pays decently. You get to meet a lot of really great people that come in often so you can get to know them. Not like fast food!

    Cons

Early morning hours may be hard for some people. There doesn't appear to be much room for advancement, you have to wait until someone quits or gets fired to compete for the job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When employees express some interest in management positions, talk to them and see if they might be qualified or are worth developing.

    I worked at Bruegger's

    Pros

The culture of Brueggers was great. It was a fun atmosphere to work in, everyone got along really well, and it was a great place to work part time during college

    Cons

Management was a bit disorganized at times, some people slacked off a bit and left all the work to the others

    Pros

the jovial nature of the staff and the taste of the food.

    Cons

the organization or lack there of, the structure and rule enforcement by management and the customers were always a little rude to very hard to deal with.

A good place for a first job; though I did learn a lot and took those experiences with me later on in life.

    Pros

A big perk of this job was the leftover bagels! You also get a free meal if you are on shift for over 4 hours. I made a lot of connections with customers who regularly came in and even made some really strong friendships. The environment is very friendly and the work isn't bad.

    Cons

After closing it can be time consuming to clean up, go through inventory and get home. But if you're efficient it can be done fast. Plus, you're paid by the hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More incentive would be nice. Every time you had an incentive like "best sales person for the online survey wins a gift certificate" it really motivated me to do my best work.

I have been working at Bruegger's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I work with some of the most fantastic people around - both my coworkers and my guests. With the Bottomless Mug Club, I see the same guests come in three or four times a day, and we become great friends. The job is really easy to do, and managers are extremely understanding about time off. They just want open and frequent communication so everyone's on the same page.

    Cons

The pay sucks. It's serious manual labor - I've aggravated a few of my conditions working here - and they really don't pay you enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For the most part, you guys do a great job! When someone complains about management, though, try to look past the cool person the manager is outside of work and look at the actual management job they're doing.
