You will have very high responsibility, in my case i am managing eight exchanges
all the equipment maintenance, 32 nos of staff Administration , customer dealing etc really a very challenging job

Still in BSNL we communicate through papers and not by e-mail,
salary is less compared to the work we do,

Being a PSU BSNL offers Job security and some central govt rules like Leave rules etc are available.

Very bad HR policies. All employees of a cadre whether Hard working or Not at all working have the same growth chances.
Advice to Senior Management
HR Policy should be improved and scientific management techniques like motivation, Strategy planning should be adopted.
Pros
It is nice to work for BSNL since the job is permanent and stable, pay is good, work environment is is cool with no tension
Cons
Being a Public Sector Unit there is no ownership of the resources ( man, machinery and money). There is no proper learning curve even though there are training institutes for BSNL.
Advice to Senior Management
Staff Learning levels needs to be monitored and reviewed. Suitable resources needs to be posted to the appropriate positions. Change Management needs to be brought in. Information Technology should be brought into lot of areas to improve the work processes.

1) Takes 15 years to get a single promotion.
2) Graveyard for qualified professionals. Engineers, CAs, and MBAs are made to work under 10th pass person.
3) No recognition to qualification and capabilities.
4)No recognition to hardwork.
5) Transfer to remotest of places
6) Salary far below other big PSUs like ONGC,NTPC
7) VERY VERY POOR management.

NO USE OF GIVING ANY ADVICE. IT IS DEAF, DUMB and BLIND
Pros
working with team members. seniors gave me good exposure to know the latest technology and implementation of these technology in various levels. Good practical knowledge gained.
Cons
In some times overtime has to be performed through out district by rectifying the network problems

Management must take care of parttime employers and take them into roles for serving the organization for fruitful results bu utilizing their services..
