Pros
Friendly people, interesting products, good industry, management is usually reasonable in their demands, compensation and benefits are in line with the industry
Cons
Lack of communication from all areas of the organization cause confusion and many problems. Lack of direction in many departments.
Advice to Senior Management
Work to standardize processes, develop appropriate communication channels and systems to resolve issues throughout the organization, encourage training for younger employees.
Pros
Had a stable work load. Lots of overtime if you wanted it. Decent pay for the job duties at the time.
Cons
Lots of extra duties expected that were not in job descriptions. Pressure to get the product out was constantly high.
Advice to Senior Management
Better information between higher ups and lower level employees would help relations between all levels of employees. Otherwise it was ok.
Pros
Products, colleagues, fun, salary, opportunities
Cons
Offices, Parking, facility, time, rocks
Pros
Lots of potential in the industry and at the company to improve; Non-management employees are great; Becoming part of Caterpillar - lots of potential in the future; Most of management is leaving

Some weak management is still there; They do not know how to communicate with employees; they don't plan for succession or promotion; they do not develop employees;
Advice to Senior Management

Advice to Senior Management
You people are monsters! What shool did you go to.
Pros
Because of their reputation in the marketplace and community. Not only because of what they sell/make/or do, but because of their reputation for treating employees. They recognize good work and offer opportunties for advancement for those wanting to grow themselves.
Cons
You have so much to say. There is so much your company can do. There is so much about this procedure that staff need to know about. The beauty is that you don’t have to say everything. is more.
Advice to Senior Management
Your company is wonderful and so much better than your competitors. You literally could talk for hours about how great you are and what you can do. But remember, it’s never about you or me — it’s all about the customer or the employee. When you work with us, we produce materials that are customer driven.
Pros
Pay is decent.
Most co-workers are easy to get along with.
You will learn enough to take to your next vocation.
Cons
Old school thinking.
Management isn't the brightest around.
A lot of meetings that yield very little results.
A big division between experienced workers and new hires.
Advice to Senior Management
Suggest you understand what your employees' strengths are to take advantage of their knowledge.
Pros
Company is currently in an upswing and doing well. Job security for the next few years. start off with 2-weeks of vacation plus a paid shutdown from christmas to new years. Very skilled and supportive coworkers.
Cons
Company has greatly expanded due to upswing in business cycle. When the downswing comes, and it will, there will be many many jobs lost. They are also abusive with the pay and hours of salaried employees. The business upswing means that they will expect you to work well over 40 hours per week each and every week, without additional compensation of any kind. The insurance benefits are also poor, with very high deductables. Standard anual pay increase the past few years was 3.5% which doesn't even keep pace with inflation and is insulting considering how well the company is doing.
Advice to Senior Management
You are burning out your employees with the workload you are putting on them, particularly your engineers. Pay increases of 3.5% are insulting when the company is doing so well and inflation has been closer 4.5%. The company apears rather gready, yet at the same time shoves the need to donate to the United Way down employees throats. I'm sure that has nothing to do with Tim Sullivan being on the United Way board
Pros
Some of the fellow employees are very knowledgeable and very dedicated to doing a good job, even though they get very little direction from management. Very nice working conditions and state of the art equipment. Very good business outlook especially in this economy. Very little competition in our business. Very well run company. The CEO is a ground roots person that actually started out in field service 35 years ago.
Cons
Some of the upper management has a real hard time listening to new ideas. Don't always show respect to the employees. Because of the tremendous growth, parking is lacking. That is currently being addressed.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to your employees. There is alot of experience to pull from. Most of the employees do a real good job and care a great deal about the company's success.
