Former Employee – worked at Budco full-time for more than a year
Pros – The 'team' set up was great - made it possible to always have people to turn to for help
The people are VERY friendly, helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable
The work from home option was very helpful
Cons – Low pay, no bonuses
No clear advancement path; I came in as a fresh-from-college employee wanting to know where I could go career-wise within the company, and there really wasn't a future for me.
Advice to Senior Management – Maintain open communications with ALL employees, and discuss other employment opportunities within the company.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Budco full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – High-quality individuals throughout the organization
People really do try to do their best to satisfy the customer
Cons – Poor communication from the front office
Lack of clear career-path for many departments
Advice to Senior Management – Trust that people will do right by you if you share information with them. Withholding and not communicating breeds uncertainty and diminishes trust in senior leadership. Trickle-down communication does not work.

Former Employee – worked at Budco full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Before the company was sold working at Budco was a wonderful experience. This was called the second chance company and you were treated fairly
Cons – After the company was sold things changed at Budco. Now you have to worry about job security, worry that someone will tap you on your shoulder or call you after your shift and tell you that your services are no longer needed. Scary place to work now.

Current Employee – been working at Budco
Pros – Budco is a employee-centric company. Many steps are taken to ensure the workplace is fun and stimulating. There is room for advancement.
Cons – With headquarters in Detroit MI, there may be some lack of communication from corporate. But they do utilize an intranet, and many people do get information from that site. I cannot think of many cons.
Advice to Senior Management – I like the quarterly town hall meetings. It would be nice if HR and IT had a greater presence in the NJ locations.

Former Employee – worked at Budco
Pros – The benefits package is quite competitive. At this time, the company ensures that every employee has an opportunity for health coverage, even if it is just the minimum coverage. For the "blue collar" staff there are opportunities to further one's education, both within the company and externally.
Cons – The demands are horrendous. Sixty plus hour weeks are not uncommon, unless you are eligible for overtime. A number of people express concern about the number of hours required to keep up with the demands of the job. In addition, people are unexpectedly let go. With other companies, terminations are not surprising to the involved employee nor his coworkers and managers. At Budco, terminations seem to come "out of the blue" and are often not based on performance. This makes for workers who are constantly worried about losing their job. Another result is that there is much "CYA". The finger pointing begins even before the issue is analyzed...particularly between the IT department and the PMO.
In addition, there is the old regimen and the newer employees. The company was sold by the former owner (single owner) to an investment company so the culture is changing as the new owners seek to streamline and grow the company. There is much discussion about and longing for "the way things used to be."
Advice to Senior Management – You must address the low employee morale. The employees feel as if they are being asked to do more and more, without raises, nor understanding why. They are very concerned that the company is pushing to become as lean as possible in order to command a high sale price.
Remember that many of the employees are accustomed to knowing more of what is going on and why decisions are being made as they are.

Former Employee – worked at Budco full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Benefits use to be good. looking at some recent reviews looks like they have been cut.
Cons – New ownership/management cares more about making the max profit than about the employees. Career advancement is bragged about but few people are truely promoted. Some get a sideways promotion with more responsiblity and slightly higher pay.
Advice to Senior Management – You should all know the old saying "Bad news speads faster than Good news"
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Budco full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great company culture. President and COO are top-notch business people with great personal skills. They understand the business and that the people working for them are as much a capital asset as the machines they work with. They are passionate about their jobs and that makes it contagious.
Cons – Poor management of executives. Just because an individual is bringing in the company money, doesn't mean they are always acting on the best interest of the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Know what is going on in ALL divisions of your company.

Current Employee – been working at Budco
Pros – I know that advancement in this company was possible in the past, and am hoping that it will be possible in the future
Cons – Pay and benefits were cut when the company was downsized a couple of years ago - I have high hopes that we are on the upside of that now and we will continue to see improved growth!
Advice to Senior Management – Look at the opportunities for advancement that are available for current staff members - we have a lot to offer and would help make the transition from good to great much more easy to achieve!
