Pros
Nice place to work. Not too stressful. Job security is very high. Project freedom.
Cons
Low chances of advancing, low personal growth. Not for ambitious people.
Advice to Senior Management
Regular meetings. Must touch sensitive issues, not only superficial ones. One on one sessions.
Pros
Once renowned corporation, Bull has bordered bankruptcy and seemed to be an interesting environment to grow a new type of service in the SAP service market.
Bull has had most SAP partner certifications for quite some time.
Cons
Freedom to innovate into value added (and therefore profitable) markets is radically limited by short-termism.
Middle managers believe politicking is more important for their career than satisfying clients.
Trust among SAP relevant entities within Bull is scarce and collaboration more difficult than it ought to be.
Sales people willing to sell to new clients or to sell innovative services are hard to come across.
Advice to Senior Management
Build a trust culture if sales are important.
Stop playing "musical chairs" with middle management: (>5 year tenure middle managers end up annihilating management talent from the outside (peers and bosses)).
Involve people managing people and people selling to clients in budgeting.
Pros
A firm still having a growth potential and providing interesting programmes in IT. OPenness and technology innovation.
Cons
Not enough participative management of Senior people just before the level of directorship. Business communciation amongst staff people that need drive and leadership.
Fonctioning as a 70 year company still in its 1980's days.
Advice to Senior Management
Work to restablish a true leadership inside a management commitee. Improve communication outside and inside to strive to 'brand of quality' recognition for BULL, namely with appointing true Marketing and communications officers. Delegate authority of performance at lowest levels with mandates to get the work done for delivery people. Work in virtual functional teams, leaves the vertical silo's of departments.
