    Pros

    Good graduate scheme and community
Global presence, so it isn't uncommon for employees to job swap or apply for roles overseas in desirable locations.

    Cons

Pay is below average for London
    Blame culture

    Advice to Management

Continually review rotation based roles to ensure they are kept up to date

    Pros

Most people I work with are very nice and are generally there for the residents

    Cons

Always been given lists of people to do and if they aren't done we get it in the neck because I refuse to wash and dress people at 5.30 in the morning and won't do anything like that till atleast half 6 and that's only if the resident wants to be washed and dressed, low pay and no extra for nights or weweekends, no moving forward in a career, management care more about paper work

    Advice to Management

Get involved more and make sure everyone is on the same page, don't let the nurses make all the decisions just to make there lives easier that's not why they are here, we are here to make sure people are well, comfortable and happy, and not here to make things easier for the staff

    Pros

You get to work in an international environment in a market leading company. Bupa International offered many courses and training to employees. Some positions offered the opportunity to travel and other positions offered the employee a job with a high level of diversity.

    Cons

Bupa seemed to have a very good grip of their national activites and strategies for these, but it became very clear to me that there was no direction for the international businneses. What mattered one day was pointless the next. They acuired two international competitors but had no clue what to do with them. Very disencouraging.

    Advice to Management

"With great power comes great responsiblity". Bupa is such a strong company with so many great opportunities but you need to be clearer on strategy and make goals matter on all levels. Be consistent and wall the talk.

    Pros

Being able to make a difference to vulnerable peoples lives
    co workers are wonderful people
    hot meals
    paid breaks

    Cons

no overtime can work 60_70 hours a week without even a thank you let alone overtime.
no sick pay even though working around vulnerable people so alot of staff turn up ill and spread infection.
management is appalling home manager rarely knows what is actually going on, they tend to bully the staff below them and create an atmosphere of hierarchy making people tense rather than working as a team.
high levels of staff leaving due to the above reasons.
    staff highly unsatisfied

    Advice to Management

home managers need more people skills not just do what suits them they need to take into account employees feelings rather than brushing under the rug. bullying in the workplace needs to stop. actually respond to gps and staff concerns rather than letting it build
