I worked at Burgess-Norton Mfg. as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Diversity of work, locations and experience within manufacturing environment. The employees were a defintie value and asset to the company.

    Cons

A step back in time from management standpoint and too much interoffice politics

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the walk and talk the talk. If you say you want to move forward and believe that is the next step in your business then not only have employees participate but, Management should be the leaders and set the example of the right things to do.

I have been working at Burgess-Norton Mfg.

    Pros

This is a well established, medium-sized business with global reach. We are a private, employee-owned company that is one of the holdings for Amsted Industries. You are part of a talented, dedicated and hard-working group of people who create value for their long term interests, not anonymous investors. Individually, you can have a large impact on the business and derive great satisfaction from your contributions.

    Cons

The lack of a diversified customer base - i.e. focus on automotive and industrial markets - makes it difficult when those markets slump.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to focus on growth and market diversification.
