I have been working at BurrellesLuce full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Vacation time-that's it Some of the people

    Cons

Terrible raises-if any, bad morale, management turns a deaf ear and blind eye to any suggestions. This goes on in the Mesa office, which is a branch to the Livingston Office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Even if the quota is not taking into consideration, something should be done for those who actually do more work than the average joe sitting at his desk.

I have been working at BurrellesLuce full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Early morning hours. In that week prior to visit from upper management, you might actually be treated like a human being.

    Cons

In the Presque Isle branch, every department head is related to another department head. EVERY ONE. No reward for hard work, employee input not only discouraged, but punished. Some departments run by people unable to perform the work he or she trains employees for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a meeting, outside the building, for the rank and file where they are free to comment on their supervisors. That should speak volumes.

    I worked at BurrellesLuce

    Pros

overall it wasn't a great working experience. during the blizzard they required employees to come to the building meanwhile it was a state of emergency and the power was going on and off. that should speak volumes there. other than being given an unfair salary and no pay raises i'm not sure what would be a pro.

    Cons

low pay, fired left and right, family owned therefore those who probably got any money from this company were there own.

I have been working at BurrellesLuce as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

flexible hours, work-life balance, friendly co-workers

    Cons

downsizing, firing long term employees for recent college grad students and lower pay, more work on employees, no pay raises since the last 5 plus years, no incentive to do a better job, promote because of friendships not because of skill, lack of foresight and one step behind competition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

give incentives for employees to work harder, instead of taking them away. make older workers feel appreciated versus disposable.

I worked at BurrellesLuce full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Tremendous sales opportunity to manage a large sales territory, autonomous and strategic territory management and sales of Fortune 1000 client base.

    Cons

Unfortunately the very dated technology made the online print solution a costly and difficult sale for many Fortune 1000 clients.

    I worked at BurrellesLuce

    Pros

PMs work on a wide range of technologies from ASP.net to PHP to DW/BI applications both at the enterprise and the department level. Business leadership and support is clearly provided by the executive team as the company pursues a catchup with Social Media movement.

    Cons

There is a strong functional silo in some areas of the company and interdepartment cooperation can be an issue. The largest problem is the need to modernize and streamline operations and move to all digitial media to reduce costs and expand away from traditional print media. The company is moving in that direction but was late implementing the strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many of the traditional services are not revenue positive and need have the business model looked at and see of they are still viable. The interdepartment communications also follow many manual procedures and take a lot longer than needed - use workflows to speed up the processing.

    Cons

College degree is a must for advancement. Low end jobs are not compensated greatly.
