the raise is not big each year even your performance is over average. also office politics is another factor that affects promotion and raise.
Advice to Senior Management
building a good relationship with both your supervisor and your team members are equally important to your career path in business object.
Pros
The company allows freedom to innovate, present ideas and pays well.
Cons
The job involves 90 to 100% travel. The job environment is extremely uncertain, there is always a fear of losing your job due to lack of projects.
Pros
Good pay and benefits. They know how to treat their people.
Cons
SAP acquisition changed everything. They are too big and don't understand or value the BI business. Say they value the BOBJ employees but don't act like it. Have screwed over many really solid good people.
Advice to Senior Management
SAP- you don't treat the BOBJ customers or the BOBJ employees as well as BOBJ did. This will come back to bite you.
Pros
team work environment
technical knowledge sharing
regonized by managment
well and detail employee training program
work life balance
fun place to work
Cons
company decision is unclear
lay off emplyoees when company being bought.
salary is lower than average on job market
internal paper works
Advice to Senior Management
keep the employees. company is expanding. finance is good yet employees are still being laid off after the merging with SAP.
Pros
Interest both technical and human. Good opportunities to move between different positions in the company. Don't know more since SAP bought them.
Cons
Maybe you need to be very clever in your "political" choices when you want to leave a department for another one.
Advice to Senior Management
Nope
Pros
Great office location, relaxed working environment, smart people, teams that get work done on time and with good quality. Not much overtime required.
Cons
Not much training. Innovation is "encouraged" but most decisions come from top down. Cross site development is difficult. Projects take sometimes years to complete / ship.
Advice to Senior Management
It seems like the organization is always undergoing changes in management and structure. After several times of going through change and not seeing much difference I am wondering if there is really much benefit to restructuring so much.
Pros
Great teamwork, great spirit, great management, great compensation, work life balance is very good and management is always supportive of your personal ambitions
Cons
compensation is good but benefits are reserved only for select few. Stock options are offered to very few. Some senior management members are not approachable
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the good work and listen to employees on the ground level instead of always having conference calls and online surveys
Pros
Employee sales training course and sales methodology
Cons
No clear direction for sales staff, target customers/Account base changed too many times.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide clear direction
