    Pros

Great back office support. As an offsite associate I could always count on staff from the head office to provide excellent support at any time.

    Cons

Had just taken over a contract from my previous employer.

    I worked at Butler America

    Pros

Seems like you could have great opportunity there. Some good contractors working for them. All in All, good reputation in the market.

    Cons

Poor Management, no processes, short-sighted, no vision, does not value leadership at the accout level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a strategic plan and stick to it. Don't drink too much Kook-aid.

I worked at Butler America as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

They did have Medical. That's all, nothing else positive to say.

    Cons

Placed me at a company called Alpheus Communications, who expected 18 hours of work in an 8-hour day. Alpheus also considered contractors the lowest form of life on the planet--the manager above my manager wouldn't even speak to me, even when I needed him to approve an installation I was about to do. The micromanagement by Alpheus was unbearable! The pay was extremely low and a $2 an hour raise that was promised to me after 30 days did not happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Butler won't listen to their employees about the abuse heaped on them from companies like Alpheus. They promise raises that never happen. They are too quick to throw their employees under the bus. not valuing their work at all. I WOULD NOT recommend them to my worst enemy!

I have been working at Butler America as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay per hour. Somewhat flexible hours.

    Cons

Hardly any benefits and does not compare to other companies in the area. Holidays are few and you get a weeks pay after a year but really no real paid vacation days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the whole benefits package and rework it. Also upper needs to work on conflicts within the groups there is no real feeling that we are all working together.

I worked at Butler America (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Butler has a comfortable, laid back work environment. Coworkers and supervisors are more than willing to mentor you and develop your skill set. My supervisor met with me regularly to ensure I understood goals, expectations and processes. Leadership has vastly improved under the new CEO.

    Cons

Benefits aren't the best, but then again that comes with the territory when you are doing contract work.

    I worked at Butler America

    Pros

Good friendly work environment....no reprimanding for mistakes, just a "Make sure this does not happen again"

    Cons

Not a lot of training or direction and very low commission so not enough opportunity to make money in commissions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Butler America as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, flexible scheduling, and lots of good interaction with co-workers.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. Also job futures were never very clear. Management was never clear as to what was going on with the contracts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the engineers in the loop. It is hard to assess our own performance when we never receive feedback.

    I worked at Butler America

    Pros

Scheduling flexibility and good people to work with.

    Cons

Little to no upward mobility, below market pay, no benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They're caught between a rock and a hard place, they can't offer competitive compensation and maintain their profit margins providing contract engineering.
