I worked at Buyseasons part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    -Can work overtime
-Get 3 breaks during the day
    -Good people
    -Good environment and atmosphere

    Cons

-Long hours. 11 hour days 7am-6pm usually 3 days a week
    -Can get very boring
-Lunch break is only 30 minutes and don't let you leave during lunch or your breaks
    -Stand all day long
    -Low paying. Start around $8.00

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees to leave for lunch, and increase pay. Split the 11 hour shift into 2 shifts.

I worked at Buyseasons full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work-life balance, free parking, safe environment.

    Cons

Rampant, shameless favoritism for people who worked with management at Kohl's regardless of current employees'/contractors' skill set (someone who was a great producer on my team was let go because top management's friend needed a job - usually they just made spots, not took them), no follow-through on promised training, out-of-touch management, non-uniform treatment of employees, management says they want to take risks and refuse to take them, untrained or undertrained - and overworked - employees, non-employment related benefits (prizes, money, parties) given with contractors intentionally ostracized while still required to attend. I read these reviews and didn't listen - glad I moved on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Connect with employees regularly to ensure goals are met & follow-through with promises made at interviews. Analyze potential/current employees' skill sets thoroughly before discarding valuable employees to get friends a job.

I have been working at Buyseasons

    Pros

*Has a great upstart mentality still and is stable.
*Company seems to be on an upswing.
*Incredibly relaxed environment with really good benefits all around.
    *Flexible Schedules for most employees.

    Cons

*The pay is on the low side compared to other companies in it category, but it makes up for it in benefits, opportunities, and flexibility.
*The company is a little behind on technology when it comes to the way they operate.
*Seasonal periods can be stressful, but they are short.
*A lot of the staff is a little leery from the past layoffs still, but new management is trying to make up for the previous management team's mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would look into making sure your pay rates are more competitive and get some better talent in the sales and marketing side of the business.

I worked at Buyseasons full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Honestly, the best part is the 50% discount

    Cons

    -management is not organized
-low wage, raises are a joke
-no room to advance within the company
    -sexist upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more listening and less telling people what to do. Also more proactive preparation vs. recovering from emergency situations that arise

    Pros

Discount on product, free lunch during the Halloween season and a lot of overtime

    Cons

New management that do not care about the employees, very hot in the building during the summer. The management tells you one thing and then they do the opposite. Your a number not a person

I worked at Buyseasons full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Costume culture, nice employees, ecommerce, digital marketing, good benefit package

    Cons

Experiencing a major contraction with dismal hope of regaining market share
2 waves of layoffs, one massive (90+)
    Gutting departments
    Ousted CEO
New CEO/VPs with plans to cut everything in sight in order to make company profitable
Disingenuous about their investment in employees/job growth potential
    Blame culture
    Poor communication between teams

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take accountability for your contribution to the companies downgrade vs blaming it on staff. Be pro growth vs pro cutting.

I worked at Buyseasons full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You could get medical insurance, but many of the positions have transformed from full time to part time, so your chances are slim for even that.

    Cons

No job security. Poor pay. Management flip-flopping. Termination without much merit. Very poor explanations for decision making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've got to stop thinking about your bottom line. If a company must resort to firings, out-sourcing, consistent terminations, flip-flopping rules and regulations, and hypocrisy in order to stay float, then the company is destined for death and should have died instead of caving morality for the sake of keeping profits.
