    Pros

-The pay was reasonable depending on experience. -The insurance/benefits were good. -The work was easy. -The office atmosphere was like a college classroom except the teacher was your manager and the principle was the director. -Coworkers were great people and great to work with. -Good lessons learned and not so good lessons learned while on project. -The experience and knowledge gained on the project was invaluable and paid dividends. -There is certainly life after Byers.

    Cons

-It's still a contract company; don't expect anything different. Everyone is disposable. -Certain management catered to favorites. -Certain management lacked leadership and job knowledge. -Certain management was narrow minded and lacked maturity.

    Advice to Management

At this time I do not have any advice to give to management. I believe that they will get it corrected in due time.

    Pros

Flexible work hours which are great given that the company is located in a congested area. Overtime hours are sometimes available.

    Cons

Petty, difficult coworkers who believe the best way to secure their jobs is to undermine management's confidence in your ability. Pay is not competitive. Work is not steady and layoffs are common.

    Advice to Management

Value ALL of your employees even those in "less significant" positions. This would go a long way in increasing employee morale. It is not a healthy work envionment when there is a very clear divide between the chosen few employees that the company views as an investment and the rest that are drones that can be easily replaced.

    Pros

The people I worked with were great. It was like a family for a long time. The bosses were flexible and would work with you on hours or anything else, and the pay was good. The company does contract engineering work mostly for telecom companies like at&t.

    Cons

Everything started to change in 2010. Corporate started taking more and more control and demanding that things be done "their way". Our bosses in Pleasanton started leaving (or being forced out). One of the worst changes was in how people were paid. All the new contracts were lump sum jobs. No more hourly pay. That drove a lot of people away, too. They weren't earning enough for it to be worth their time.

    Advice to Management

Micro-managing your people is bad for morale.

    Pros

It is hard to list pros when there are so many strong cons. I guess I would say that the work environment is safe.

    Cons

Withheld information relative to when bid and contracts were ending. Strung employees along without pay.

    Pros

Management is on top of relations with employees and customers. Very competitive compensation and opportunities for advancement within the company.

    Cons

Very difficult clients to deal with leave it very probelmatic and sometimes very stressful on employees. Dealing on a day to day basis with clients who have no understanding of how the work is actually completed is very bothersome.

    Advice to Management

Would like to hear more about other ongoing projects and opportunities

    Pros

I had great trainers, excellent facilities, family-friendly policies and lots of opportunity to learn.

    Cons

I had to learn about plenty of new software to work with and it was challenging, but not necessarily a con.

    Advice to Management

More often than not, employees want to please management, so remember to complement them on any good work done. It is a great morale booster.

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits; Not micro-managed(little supervision); more hours + overtime, and great experience, nice work environment.

    Cons

Keep your job based on production and if they still have work available, so you may lose your job if they lose a contract with whatever company or project you're working on.

    Pros

They have jobs. It's easy to get one.

    Cons

They're not good jobs: No training, no tools, low pay, incompetent management, bad communication, no employee appreciation. Toxic workplace.

    Advice to Management

Check out your regional and local managers. Ask your customers to evaluate them because your employees are afraid to tell the truth.
