    Pros

    Flexible hours. (Apparently branch depending.)

    Cons

Very young hires. (Mostly all college graduates.) Little room for advancement. Grossly underpaid positions in comparison to industry standard. High-stress environment. Sales-floor environment. Loud music constantly playing throughout office. No training program at company or branch level for International Forwarding portion.

    Advice to Management

See the potential in your employees to advance their careers. Be more motivating and encouraging. Give raises.

    Pros

ITS A JOB that is all , just a crappy job that pays bills, no life just work.

    Cons

I was NOT able to manage my work responsibilities in a way that allowed me to maintain a healthy balance between work and home. The workload is too heavy for some and really light for others !! this is no way to work as a team. People are discouraged from taking vacations, time off, breaks, lunch or anything that will take you away from the desk. ! CHR is a terrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to speak to your employees, distribute the work load evenly, and take some management classes. !!! so you can learn how to do your job the right way.

    Pros

    Good benefits Social workplace

    Cons

Work/life balance has been talked about for years with little change. Benefits are worse now than before. Company is currently changing job expectations and it is not for the better. Little direct financial incentive to try harder than necesssary.

    Advice to Management

Better compensate actual growth drivers. Increase salary pool to attract better talent and retain top talent.

    Pros

401K PTO Building Construction Nice kitchen Location Must enter in five words.

    Cons

*Doesn't listen to employees suggestions or recommendations *Over worked with below standard pay *Relying on Temps too much *Loosing customers due to inexperienced agents *Ruined the the customer relationship with micromanagement *Very corporate and not family feeling *Aquire companies and runsure them and acquired employees to the ground

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff. Be realistic in your approach. Have compassion and a heart when it comes to your customers and employees. Give holidays off. It shows you only care about bottom line when you have to work on the eves. Employees have enough stress during those times and don't need to be treated without feeling. Uniformity is a must. No favoritism amongst employees. Keep your employees up to speed. Don't blow smoke up their rear. Strive to be unique and not the average 3pl. Praise where needed and punish when you see fit. And ENOUGH with all the dawn meetings.

I worked at C.H. Robinson Worldwide

    Pros

I interned at the branch in Warsaw, Poland and it was a great experience. The company is run professionally but there is still a friendly and enjoyable environment to it. I was able to meet all the workers at the branch and was also able to participate in the all of the daily tasks, from calling drivers to using online programs to create loads.

    Cons

Can be a fast paced environment so be ready for that, but I had no negative experiences

    Advice to Management

Many training programs are created to begin in line with the graduation date of the majority of schools, but there are schools that do not graduate at the traditional time in May. Create something for everyone.

    Pros

Great people on staff. Very business casual. Worldwide organization with huge profits. Great location. Great benefits. Leader in the 3PL industry with several huge accounts. Ability to handle all of a clients needs.

    Cons

Dishonest, oversensitive management. Overpriced, in an oversaturated market. Inter - department communication is horrible. Confusing commission structure with ever changing priorities based on guesses. Claustrophobic work environment, very unprofessional behavior.Better suited for recent college grads.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and stop acting like an insecure highschooler. Work on being a more professional. Work to become a more transparent management team. Add monthly or quarterly bonuses to reward sales team.

    Pros

Good job right out of college to get professional experience, with a decent entry level salary. Loose office environment, flat organization with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility and gain experience fairly quickly.

    Cons

Responsibility level not commensurate with pay. You can take on as large of a workload as you'd like, which is encouraged, but it will not necessarily earn you a raise in pay. Long hours with an expectation of answering your phone/emails no matter what day or time it is.

    Advice to Management

Make a better effort at creating clear career paths for professionals looking to advance. Limited opportunities for growth leave the best talent disenchanted after a couple years, and looking to move on. There's a joke about CHR being an industry training center before moving on to a competitor.

Room for advacement if you have a good driver for sales and customer service.

    Pros

C.H. Robinson has a good culture and fun environment. There are a lot of entry level positions for recent college grads. Good corporate experience.

    Cons

Pay may be more at other companies for similar positions. Hard to stay challenged with the nature of the business.

    Advice to Management

In some situations it may be of value to bring in an employee at a higher salary that shows a lot of potential. Would be great if there was the option to work from home at times.
