    Pros

I actually like the people and teams I partner with. Smart, funny people who get that its not an easy job and give you a lot of support. I have learnt a lot and got some great experiences under my belt while at the same time being supported when I do take a break. Things have really changed since new CEO came in and I see us moving in right direction. Fantastic personal growth, great office culture and fair comp. Work life balance is good but even better is the challanges - you wont be bored here!

    Cons

Workforce planning should be more of a priority. If we want to win hearts/minds of our employees and any future talent we have to show them stability and not ongoing reorg

    Pros

People are amazing, benefits great, compensation good

    Cons

need to get rid of the old guard still remaining to grow and evolve

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sr. Sales Leadership is awful. Not a respected individual, punitive and old school CA.

    Cons

Consistency of reps on accounts. Lots of process.

Stay with he vision and execute. Streamline processes from getting trials to delivering paperwork to customers. Continue to challenge all areas of the company.

    Pros

Great CEO, history, products to run any IT organization and people

    Cons

Mindset of the old guard is hard to overcome, corporate location on Long Island makes recruiting talent difficult, too many people unwilling to put in the work needed to turn the ship

    Pros

    Comp in Sales is elite
Overall strong product portfolio in Enterprise IT Mgmt Space
    Strong internal resources
Great at pursuing and landing big deals

    Cons

HR is a pawn of exec leadership
Exec leadership will make change if they don't like the way something looks with little consideration if the change will work
Employees are encouraged to speak out but in reality exec leadership not really interested
Benefits value shrinking compared to peer companies
CA fancies itself as a Growth company, it's not. The Street only invests in CA stock because it offers a dividend
    CA hasn't hit a revenue # in over 6 years - - that was 3 CEOs ago

I worked at CA Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Big company with good benefits and pay. Salaries and titles are actually inflated compared to the market. First line managers have Director titles and are paid commiserate to 2nd line managers at other companies.

    Cons

The culture is still that of Computer Associates.the history of layoffs is so deep that people's first concern is to make sure they don't look bad. It's like playing a constant game of musical chairs and no one wants to be the one without a seat when the music stops. Old-Timers know how to through there fellows under the bus whenever anything goes wrong. Culturally averse to risk taking and bold moves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start really respecting people. Don't just talk about it, live it.

I have been working at CA Technologies full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Salaries are good, benefits are great.

    Cons

Executive management is out of touch. Three CEOs in less than 7 years, yet very little has changed. Culture is still very much command-and-control. Trust is nonexistent. HR and IT only serve to say no. Engineers work long hours with no room for innovation. Reorgs are so frequent that many just wait for the next one versus settling in. Many of the benefits (Montessori daycare centers, on-site gyms, etc.) exist only in larger offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This could be a really great company to work for, but listen to all of your employees, not just middle and upper management.

    Cons

I have been working at CA Technologies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have worked for CA for several years, The corporate environment is overall very good. They do offer good benefits and they are family oriented.

    Cons

The major challenge at CA is getting compensated after your initial hire date. They are very apt to give yo a review stating that you are doing a good job but there is just no money in the budget for raises this year. I find that hard to believe for a billion dollar company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall a great place to work, please reconsider compensation policies as it is driving good talent away from the company.

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
