I have been working at CA Technologies full-time

    Pros

Part of the finance rotation program at the company. I have rotated through 3 departments - the people are amazing and the work life balance is good. The rotation program is well planned and provides a great learning opportunity.

    - Good Work life balance
    - Very nice people

    Cons

They have layoffs annually and because employees have long tenures, growth is a little difficult

I have been working at CA Technologies as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

I joined the team as a senior research aide (an intern position). Although there is not much work pressure, you get a lot of chances to learn and proceed with your ideas. As an intern my schedule was flexible enough and management was supportive too.

    Cons

Situations change so fast at times. Couple of times, my projects got cancelled. Compensation was not very good for the intern positions.

I worked at CA Technologies (more than an year)

    Pros

Half days on many Fridays in the summer. Annual bonus and matching in the 401k. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Benefits are expensive. High deductible. Long work hours - no appreciation for your efforts and hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut down on so many meetings so your employees won't have to work 50 - 60 hours a week to get their job done.

I worked at CA Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great facility, great culture, great people. Lot of generous training for personnel development.

Hours are reasonable, unless of course it is during busy season

    Cons

    Too much change, non stop.

Very family oriented - which is not bad on its own. But this is not the place for a young, ambitious professional trying to make moves in their career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop babying your employees. Yes they should have a voice but they also need to focus on work.

    Good culture transformation.

I have been working at CA Technologies (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful, collaborative people willing to work hard and compromise to make things happen!

    Cons

Executives overlook internal talent pool in favor of bringing in external hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop leaders in the company and PROMOTE from within. Look below the senior exec ranks to find your shining stars.

Flashy from the outside looking in, but you will not like what's under the hood once you get in....

I have been working at CA Technologies full-time

    Pros

Great Pay (Straight Salary...no bonus...but very high salary).....
    Good Benefits...incentives to be fit.......
Executive leadership is highly motivated and driven.....
People are great for the most part, except the occasional difficult co-worker...but this is the same anywhere....

    Cons

Processes and people are stuck in time (Specifically 25 years ago).
Wants to be an innovation company, but far from it.
A ton of empire builders here.......
Survivalist culture since there have regular layoffs each year.....
Revenue growth is because of cost cuts.....not true growth (revenue is declining YoY)....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Executive management needs to focus on building a solid leadership team underneath them that can execute their vision. Also, layoffs while necessary, should be last result and not a annual occurrence. The Executive team is smart enough to fix these problems....they just need prioritize them.
