Pros
Good technical opportunities.
Great team members.
Leadership that values people and allows them to succeed.
Cons
Reactive rather than proactive, at times. This is the nature of the business.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep valuing your most worthwhile commodities. YOUR PEOPLE. You are doing a great job promoting a healthy atmosphere.
Pros
You can make a ton of money.
Cons
It is very hard, the name is poor in marketplace and internal policies make it hard to get anything done.
Advice to Senior Management
Become better communicators. You never hear from SR. managers down on their strategy and what they are doing to drive the business.
Pros
great benefits, extensive learning opportunities, ease of remote collaboration
Cons
constant reorgs, zero job security
Advice to Senior Management
13,000 employees should be valued -at least equally respected and rewarded as are company's shareholders per short-term financial predictions

Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Very good work life balance
Cons
very slow .. zero risks.. hence no opportunity to grow
Advice to Senior Management
Take atleast measured risks
Pros
Leading vendor in many areas, many locations, many varied opportunities. Benefits are good. People that are not in management are usually good to work with and helpful.
Cons
Upper management keeps changing and does not keep its promises. Layoffs occur every year, sometimes twice a year. Workers don't trust company. Company cares more about stock price than its people.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep promises to employees. You care more about the stock price than your people. Your people are your 'bread and butter'.
Pros
At CA Technologies, I really enjoyed the people and how eager everyone was to support and help one another. The culture of innovation and teamwork is highly evident.
Cons
With such a large company, communication between key team members is often limited to phone calls rather than in-person meetings.
Pros
CA Technologies has evolved in a true technology company that encourages innovative thought and inventive ideas. Rather than just relying on acquisitions, internal culture changes have encouraged teamwork, open communication, collaboration at all levels, and a very different and positive atmosphere unlike anything at the old "Computer Associates" I was hired into 15 yrs ago
Cons
CA Technologies still has room to grow in the area of internal employee growth and advancement opportunities. In an effort to find new ideas and new leadership, long-term employees have been largely ignored for any level of promotion in favor of external hiring of (mostly) former IBM employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Trememendous knowledge, experience, and capability exists within the employee workforce already within CA. Stop looking externally for new management and technical leaders from your own background and previous employers. This action gives the appearance of rewarding former friends and coworkers with high positions and even higher salaries. Promote from within.
