    Pros

Good work/life balance and strong leadership. Lots of room for growth, and the fact that there are so many locations in the Northern Virginia area means that there are multiple opportunities locally.

    Cons

Raises are very low, so the best way to earn more is to change job titles.Their excuse is that if the government is in the midst of a pay freeze, then CACI can't give out much.

I worked at CACI International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a large company that serves many government agencies specializing in cleared work. The overall mission of being a defense contractor is fulfilling.

    Cons

On the government contract that I served, CACI management was horrible compared to other defense contracting companies. Managers would not communicate effectively to the government customer and would always throw their employees under the bus. They constantly stabbed employees in the back. It was a great contract in terms of the customer, the team, and the work, but everyone started to leave due to poor management. I've heard from other CACI employees who were on other contracts and their stories were comparable to mine. I think that you could have a decent career there depending on your specific contract and management team; however, I would consider other government contracting companies first. I have worked for other defense contractors where management looked out for their employees and CACI is not one of them. Beware!

    Advice to Management

Instead of using scare tactics and intimidation, learn how to be leaders and inspire your teams. Focus on training and effective communication.

I have been working at CACI International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

CACI is a larger company with a lot of different contract work and numerous jobs available offering the opportunity to advance your career - if you have a security clearance, this will be a lot easier to do - without a clearance, your chances of moving from one job to another on a contract will be severely limited due to the amount of classified work they do.

    Cons

CACI has been reducing costs a lot lately and is starting to look like a lot of other big government contractors. Your chances of pursuing a career in executive management are practically nil unless you work in the corporate office or have an in with an executive.

    Advice to Management

There has been a lot of turmoil in the past two years with respect to reorganizations, changing of benefits, perks, etc. It would be nice if this started to settle down.

I have been working at CACI International as a contractor

    Pros

They were very efficient in getting me into the company and providing swift access to the resources I needed.

    Cons

By the time I arrived at the company, both the position and the job description had changed. Apex would not find me another appropriate position, and the recruiter told me that if I didn't like what I was doing to leave.

    Advice to Management

Be sure to double-check all positions prior to placing candidates as companies make changes in these positions based on changing needs and may not always communicate this information to the recruiting company.

    Pros

You get to work from home & meet new people, learn about their lives

    Cons

Unrealistic stat goals per month, low team morale, CACI pretty much absorbed USIS and inherited the company culture. I'm a new investigator and they laid my TL off who was helping me professionally. The hours are super long and I feel like they give you more work than 40 hours per week. It's draining.

    Advice to Management

Ditch the stats and focus on quality and timeliness.

    Pros

    Stable, decent salary and benefits.

    Cons

    Not many career progression opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Gradually enhance the work culture of the company from a traditional government contractor to a IT consulting firm and attract young talent.

I have been working at CACI International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The first line supervisors can be very easy to work with.

    Cons

With the loss of work for USIS, CACI has become money hungry. Most of the new employees make more money than the legacy staff. Management and HR are not interested in providing rectification. Opportunities for growth were promised for legacy staff, but this is only if you know someone or if you are willing to take a pay cut.

    Advice to Management

Stop bad business practices and treat legacy staff properly by ensuring equal pay and benefits. Promote investigators with pay raises in new jobs, not cuts.
