Gratifying experience allowing you to collaborate with multiple facets of the business.

Mechanical Systems Designer (Current Employee) Montreal (Brazil)

ProsGreat work environment with dedicated individuals determined to provide the best quality products for our customers.

ConsImplementing positive change can be difficult in an organization of its size. You need to push hard for your ideas in order to realize them.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to listen to your employees for product and process innovation. They work and follow the day-to-day operations and know exactly how we can improve to become more efficient.

Good company despite Directors and senior management

    Manager (Current Employee) Montreal (Brazil)

ProsVery interesting projects. Good benefits (although shrinking).

ConsSenior management (Director level) in Montreal are more concerned with turf and building silos than company success.

Advice to Senior ManagementCEO is seen as a do-nothing. He needs to clean house. Some of the directors and senior management in Montreal need to be fired in order to change the culture. Run more Kaizens--those are the only way the dirt comes to the surface--no one wants to show that they are not working effectively and that they've been building silos.

Technology: Dynamic-Every moment is a learning Growth:Static & stagnant Never see light BUREAUCRACY & SYCOPHANCY RULES

Engineering & Operations (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsThe Products & Services are a Niche by itself. Every day is a learning.
Second level & below line of employees are best in the class

ConsIf a person aspires for Career growth.. Not a place to venture at all.
You are what you are while you joined. Till you leave or are ousted. Only exception is if you are a sycophant.
No signs of second level leadership growth.
Decisions taken behind closed doors and never transparent. Never flows downwards. Only a Catastrophe will send jitters.. Few heads "BELOW" roll and again "TOP" back to business as usual.

Advice to Senior ManagementA Niche area, with good people in the second and all levels below- Develop a vision and strategy for this region.
Enough of bureaucracy and Yes boss culture. Be approachable and open to feedback.
Firstly, come to the office regularly. Try to be one among the people in the facility. Company should be run by participation and not authoritative.

CAE is in the process of a crash landing

Project Manager (Current Employee) Montreal, QC (Canada)

ProsFriendly coworkers, on-site cafeteria, flexible hours (for non-unionized employees), health club subsidies.

ConsNo training, heavy in processes and red tape, internal competition between divisions hilighted by a terrible management bonus plan that paid out almost nothing the second year it was forced onto employees.

Lots of smart and highly qualified people

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

Prosmodelling and simulation is a very interesting space, and brings together great professionals. Everyone submits timesheets so work-life balance is pretty good; you know where you spend your time, and when you have worked a full week.

ConsLimited career growth, little to no training budget.
As a public company, the outlook and planning is short-sighted. Not much in the way of investing in R&D, innovation, strategic partnerships, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in your people. Smart, hard-working people seek professional growth and learning opportunities... all the time.

Good to work at but lack of effective organization

Software Developer II (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

Prosdetailed work on almost all aircraft. restructuring currently to standardize processes.most colleagues are great people. salary is pretty good

Consgrowth is not so great in terms of levels. not doing so great in the face of competition. management keeps shifting between ideas and approaches. currently lacks standard system of doing most work

Advice to Senior Managementplease stick with your plans this time

    Ok to work for beginners

Software Developer (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

Pros-Onsite visit to Montreal ( if you are lucky)
    - You may sit idle for long time, if you are intended to prepare for competative exams then its a good company.

    ConsThere are many to list
    - Management keeps changing every year in the name of 'transformation'
    - There is not vision for India especially Software Engineering Group and Courseware/Techpubs
    - No career growth
    - Although you are performing well you may be fired if Montreal doesnt feel to carry out the particular task should not be done in India
    - Every manager gets fired in one or two years in the name of transformation/restructuring/vision
    - Lack of leadership globally and India- every company in world wants to outsource to India( Indeed CAE Director/CEO may want to do it, but no support from Execution team managers/SSAs/PDLs from Montreal)
-HR is very much pathetic, even for the current employees and for the one who has left the company. People may not get relieving letters many a times and you will not be answered by anyone if you try to call. (HR team itself is unstable, keeps changing. Only HR director is fixed like Fevicol

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate the mandate for the people in Montreal make outsourcing model work just say 'Outsource or else get yourself fired'

    Highly unstable...Not a recommended company

Training Solutions (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

Prosnone that I can think of

ConsNo growth at all and i would say that, it is not an aerospace/aviation company at all
as no work is done following aerospace/aviation standards and tools. It is a place where
if a person with aerospace/aviation domain comes will forget all what he knows, as the
work here will make him incompetent and unworthy of competition outside.

CAE experience is not useful in other job as no industry standards are followed.

    job is never guaranteed.
    CAE-Simulation Technologies, India.
just hires/fires for the heck of it.
Hiring happens without proper clarity/visibility of work inflow.

There is no vision ...and the managers are the most incompetent lot, they are just getting fat packages without doing any work, neither do they want to bring in any work as they themselves are inefficient to do anything.

HR and the admin are even worse.

Advice to Senior Managementnone as they are blind and deaf

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
