Pros
Intelligent upper level management
Great pay
Cons
Poor communication between divisions and levels
Pros
Used to be a good and fun company to work for. We worked hard as a team. But, we also had fun together with group lunches, potlucks and company holiday events activities. Employee morale and satisfaction were good until 2005.
Cons
Politics, politics, politics, politics, politics. Play the game to get promotion or keep your job.
Advice to Senior Management
Golden rule: Treat your employees the way you want to be treated. What goes around, comes around.
Pros
You'll help the company to profit and they'll boast about "big wins", while they keep your salary frozen for a few years. You'll learn the art of brown-nosing in order to get ahead, regardless of your intellect. Great team culture, if you like to take one for the team.
Cons
Promotion is based on "who you know" rather than "what you know". They keep your salary frozen for extended periods (2-3 years). Lack of accountability: You are expected to do things that other people are supposed to own, and then aren't even recognized for it. Poor recognition: Do your job very well and you hear nothing. Make one mistake, and they hang it over your head like a dark cloud.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't reward employees by permitting them to wear jeans for a week, as this doesn't help pay the bills. Stop sending the employees emails touting "big wins", unless you plan on increasing their compensation accordingly. What goes around comes around. Weed out the managers who promote based on brown-nosing. Pay and respect your employees fairly.
Pros
Convenient Locations throughout metroplex
Name Recognition in industry
Involvement in various charity organizations both community and social

Benefits
Employee policies to promote work/life balance
Advice to Senior Management
Look at the employee, not just the job
Pros
They have a global resource that has become a huge asset to me. Everyday CBRE will ping you lots of information about real estate deals occurring over the nations.
Cons
One drawback to me was I has been taking care of local deals. I wanted to deal with the national real estate market but my work has been focused on local properties only. I have not got a chance to do a deal outside of the state.
Advice to Senior Management
I know how busy we are but I want to tell you that we need get feedbacks about our works at least once a year. Also, we better have a regular meeting to talk about our progress.
Pros
Great work life balance - excellent leaders
Cons
compensation is much below average but it's worth it!
Advice to Senior Management
Begin raising compensation levels
Pros
Name recognition, opportunities within, work on some of the largest deals and some of the top brokers in the industry.
Cons
Compensation is poor relative to peer companies, no work-life balance....culture is very work 23 hours a day, get little sleep
Advice to Senior Management
Compensate employees to keep talent around longer. As the job market thaws, salary adjustments at the company will be too late.
Pros
Have many opportunities for advancing your career. The compensation is competitive. Its a worldwide company so there is always the possibility of relocation. The work you will do is challenging and rewarding. The people who you work with are some of the best people around - hard working, family oriented and genuinely nice.
Cons
When working on a client account you can tend to lose the CBRE coroporate culture and take on the culture of the client.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you are doing
Pros
CB Richard Ellis allows you to pursue your career goals.
Cons
Competition for getting to the next level can sometime be nasty.
Advice to Senior Management
Better communication on what is happening with CBRE around the world.
Pros
The company's reputation as being the largest full-service real estate company in the world. Opportunities to meet some of the industry's brightest talents.
Cons
Salaries are frozen, management is archaic, sales professionals are unprofessional, management rarely supports staff when tension arises between sales professionals and their supporting staff, there is a lack of respect for support staff and there is an unspoken caste system within the company. CB Richard Ellis only cares about making record profits at the expense of its employees while the upper management receives bonuses even in this economy!
Advice to Senior Management
Give up your bonuses, remove the caste system, demand professionalism, and service your biggest asset: YOUR EMPLOYEES! I hate having my salary frozen and seeing our performance against our competitors... SHAMEFUL!
