I worked at CBC Companies full-time

    Pros

Good people, good environment, ability to move upwards in the company

    Cons

Answering phones gets dull, sometimes clients can be difficult

    Advice to Management

None- I didn't experience any issues during my time there.

    Pros

I no longer work there. Managers took so many smoke breaks you didn't have to deal with them so much.

    Cons

I spent 10 years of my life working under some of the most incompotent management and leaders. That I knew more than my manager 2 months into the job and 10 year employees came to me for answers to work I barely knew should say all there is. People making $9 were expected to dress "professionally," which meant ties on the men (with un-ironed pants, no less), yet they paid so little, most employees were on welfare. Nice financial contributions to the community.

    Advice to Management

keep rolling in the dough you make while not paying worthwhile employees.

    Pros

Good work/life balance. You get a personal day right out of the gate. The hiring process was fast and simple.

    Cons

Way too many. Poor management, 2-week training doesn't cover nearly everything you need to do on the floor, so you're left to your own devices most of the time. When you ask questions, you're often met with a "why don't you know this already" type of attitude. There's also a lot of favoritism, so it tends to be a hostile work environment.

    Advice to Management

Involve your employees on your game plan because it involves us too. Leading by intimidation is no way to prevent a high turnover. Lead by example, and praise in public. Punishing employees in public is utterly humiliating, and doesn't motivate your team to build success.

    Pros

Pros: Regular hours, no weekends, and benefits.

    Cons

Cons: Micromanagement, setting unattainable goals, Basing performance off of things one has little control over. High employee turnover. Over time, job began to feel like collections.

I have been working at CBC Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to start a career and possibly a great place to continue it IF you're good at your job and know who's rear to kiss. The CEO frequently visits and actually knows several of us in the building, even non-managers. I've been with the CBC Companies for over two years and am generally happy.

    Cons

High turnover rate. Lower pay, especially once you've advanced. They don't make it easy to get raises, either.

    Advice to Management

Pay more! And reward your employees for dedication to the company to reduce turnover. Also promote people to managers if they'll make good managers, not just because they're good processors.

I worked at CBC Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can gain experience. Workers are pretty friendly and helpful; for the one's that stay.

    Cons

High turnover. Low pay. Sales reps do not receive commission. Privately held.

    Advice to Management

Gain some management skills from an outside source or company. Increase pay and provide information on what the direction of company is.

I worked at CBC Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of different roles to take on, working in a field where where you learn vital information. Everyone is incredibly friendly and if they recognize you are working hard they will take care of you. Feels like a family, and they are super flexible about taking time off, etc.

    Cons

Not a whole lot of room for advancement unless you have a relevant degree and come in above entry-level. Pay isn't very good but fair for the work involved.

    Advice to Management

Try to develop promising employees more and stop enabling people who aren't committed to the organization. Also, clean up the sales dept.
