Pros
friendly people, very professional, always willing to help others
Cons
very competitive to get in, and you must be assertive to get noticed
Pros
having the name CBS on a resume is great.
Cons
they are slow with change
Pros
Good earning potential at the company
Cons
senior management was inexperienced and needed training
Pros
If you're union, compensation is far greater than other rival networks. Combined with overtime and you could make as much as your boss.
Cons
Bureaucratic, nepotism, poor work-life balance, non-traditional hours (overnights, weekends, holidays) you give but you will never get.
Pros
Good Benefits
Looks good on a resume
Cons
Work overtime all the time with no compensation. Depends on the employee- if they don't want to hear you complain, you'll get OT...If you're the quiet type. you'll get nothing but an excuse as to why you can't be compensated.
Work extremely late night hours and told to figure out how to get home on your own because you're not rich enough to live in the city.
Employees are extremely bitter, throw fits, scream and curse, cry, punch walls when approached with anything
Talk about your personal life and it will be used against you to keep you overtime out of spite.
If you appear to have a happy life outside of the workplace, they will do everything in their power to make you equally miserable.
Whoever is chosen to take on your work if you need time off will treat you like you deliberately made them work for you.
Talk to your supervisor about a problem and It'll get relayed to everyone within the same day.
Advice to Senior Management
It's no wonder so many workers end up leaving. CBS doesn't care about their employees well-being/health/ overall needs. These are the things that are essential in having a productive workplace. The only time an employee is shown recognition is when they screw up. Otherwise , nobody knows who the hell you are.
When approaching management about issues, the sayings " It is what it is", are too often thrown around so that you eventually shut up.
HR is worthless and must have some secret contract or agreement where no matter what is said to them, they stay out of it. Apparently all things that are poorly managed are specific office issues and not company issues which makes no sense.
Also it is assumed when talking with HR that it is confidential. Issues are raised with supervisors before getting a response back. The HR person never contacted me again and I was back to square one.
Pros
good place to work, efficient
Cons
no benefits, small company, long hours
Pros
Good people creat a decent working environment.
Cons
The busines is distressed and in decline.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep lines of communication open.
Pros
Your creativity is encouraged and you get to work with plenty of great talented people. Plus the people there know how laugh and have fun.
Cons
You don't always know if your performance is well received. It's said that if you do something wrong you will be made aware of this, but more input (good or bad) can help tremendously.
Advice to Senior Management
Communication from the producers should be clear. Feedback about company changes should be out in the open. Plus micromanaging is damaging to everyone. The exec prod. should let people do their work without having to have his hand in their basket.
Pros
There is true career advancement for those who can buddy up to top executives. The pay grade was decent, and I got many holidays off.
Cons
People there are not nice, flaky, and can be truly irritating. I was treated like a body whose sole purpose is to file things and grab food.
Advice to Senior Management
Do something to retain employees! If you cannot help a savvy, affable young guy like me advance his career, there is something rotting in Denmark (or Barca in my case).
Pros
Salary, Location, Upward Mobility, Comraderie
Cons
Long hours of work, micromanagement
