    During summers sometimes they combine with other schools = new children

    Help the schools learn about the programs and take ownership in their good programs and help the programs to get better and succeed.

    Pros

    Work without boss peeking over your shoulders every minute.

    Cons

    Work site and location are located in a very isolated area. Meaning you've got to travel 30+ minutes for groceries.

    I had the privilege to work at Charleston County School of the Arts in North Charleston.

    Cons

    There are no cons from my point of view. This was the best school I had ever worked at and that made it the best place to finish my teaching profession.

    The best reason to work for CCSD is the promotion of technology in the workforce.

    The downside of working for CCSD was the lack of diversity in the workforce.

    Pros

    Good leadership, great collegues. Everyone works so hard and believes in what they do. Good state benefits. Professional development. It's nice to feel you are making a difference on something so important. Wonderful health insurance. Discounts for your own children on the after school program.

    Cons

    I was told that this was the worst job I would ever love, and it was true. Long hours, difficult situations, and worst of all, the politics of public education. And yet, I loved it.

    Remember and recognize the little people.

    Benefits; retirement plan; time off; technology. There are a lot of opportunities to take professional development courses.

    Cons

    pay; not easy to move up; seem like a number. It is a shame that education has become so political. Just leave me along and let me teach my classes.

    Many opportunities to move and grow your career. One of the largest employers in the area. Teamwork is encouraged.

    Cons

    Salary inequalities between teachers and classified staff. Budge cuts abound. Salaries are not up to standard average.

    More forward thinking is needed.
