Very compassionate company to work for.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at CDCNews

ProsGood benefits. Executive team is approachable and listens to complaints. My RSM is amazing new sales director is also great. Going on right direction.

ConsNo paid time off for sales, you get time off. All new sales. Separate retention team. Rep's are limited to 40 hrs a week.

Advice to Senior ManagementSales reps should be exempt and able to work more than 40 hrs. It's straight commission. I'm sure there is a federal rule against that, but it would be nice.

Inside Sales

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at CDCNews full-time for more than a year

ProsGood people to work with mostly, you nearly can't get fired.

ConsVery poor managers, old boys club, weak comp plan. Our team had done so well in sales and they came back and change the comp plan so we didn't make as much. This is no way to keep good people.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on tools for the sale team. Pay a living wage.

ConsAfter 4 months I was a Veteran Rep. Turnover turnover turnover

Advice to Senior ManagementNo advise needed since they know everything , just ask them.. they are stuck in the 70's

Unrealistic income promised

Senior Sales Consultant (Current Employee)
Casselberry, FL

I have been working at CDCNews full-time for less than a year

ProsFriendly co-workers and decent training.

ConsLack of organization, poor leads, and unrealistic sales income potential.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide better leads and offer a base salary, since the closing percentage is so low and the ability to earn a good income is non-existent.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Excellent Company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at CDCNews full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThis company offers great benefits for a reasonable price. They are fun to work with, fair to their employees and take care of you.

ConsSometimes sales goals are unreachable and people are let go. The most unfortunate thing about this company is the Christmas party. They make all new employees perform a skit and it's mandatory. Totally embarrassing. But fun once it's over. The party is mandatory, on a weekday in the afternoon and you only get two drink tickets. It's their way of preventing drunk driving. Very cool. But many would rather have the cash.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is great. They can only work within the parameters given by the owner. However, he is a wonderful fellow. Cancel the Christmas Party!

Telephone sales role was not for me

Senior Sales Consultant (Former Employee)
Cary, NC

I worked at CDCNews full-time for less than a year

ProsThe regional sales manager is outstanding. A good company in a very tough market (construction). Ramp-up commissions are excellent.

ConsAfter 6-month ramp-up commissions decline substantially. Leads are often out-of-date.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind more ways to generate current and up-to-date leads for your sales staff. Calling a company that went out of business years ago is a waste. There are new construction companies starting every day - find them.
