Pros – The pay is great for a part-time job. Hours are flexible, and at certain times in the year you can make changes to your schedule. Expectations are great. My supervisors are great, and understanding!!!
Cons – The con's wouldn't be toward CDS, the job itself isn't the greatest. Sitting on the phone for hours on end dealing with cranky people. I have no negative info at this time towards the company.

Former Employee – worked at CDS Global full-time for less than a year
Pros – Air conditioned environment.
Paid breaks.
Decent benefits - once hired on as a 'permanent employee'.
Cons – Overzealous management quick to create written warnings for the most minor non-issues, even while training.
No consistent training method - if someone trains you one way, another will train you differently.
Workplace is predominantly women, who have demonstrated a strong tendency to create drama and condone an uncomfortable working environment. A more balanced workforce would create a more professional working environment for all.
Lack of skilled proactive maintenance on their machinery leaves the workers to blame for poor productivity and quality issues.
I have heard numerous reports of previous workforce reductions, with no re-hiring consistency.
Advice to Senior Management – Give your employees, especially new hires in training, room to breathe. Be more patient and understanding of their thoughts and needs instead of simply relying on trainers to dictate to you whether they will 'make it or not'. Streamline your production process, enforce more proactive maintainance, and don't be so overzealous about minor non-issues which have no impact on overall productivity.

Current Employee – been working at CDS Global full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Business casual attire, decent benefits, Small onsite fitness center, onsite classes to help employees improve skills
Cons – Magazine fulfillment is a not a growing industry. Publishers are going digital, and CDS does not have the technology to keep up. CDS has had significant layoffs in the last 2 years - at least 30% of their US workforce, and they closed a processing site in Red Oak. Employees are discouraged and confused by the constant restructuring and fearful of additional downsizing. Longtime CEO's and VP's have all "retired" in the last 5 years. There is a revolving door of upper management that stays 1 year or less. Many are offsite, and they do not appear to know, or care how the employees make the company function.
Advice to Senior Management – No matter how great, or improved, or innovative your product is, you still need competent employees to make it work.

Pros – Leadership's response to employee dissatisfaction is jean's days until the end of the year and treat days for everyone. There are good benefits.
Cons – Seems like layoffs are taking place monthly. IT gets its direction for product management and product management has had very high turnover and a lack of qualified leadership.
Advice to Senior Management – I would try to bring back some of the executives that were running the company when it was strong. A balance of new ideas with executives who employees trusted and viewed as having integrity might slow down turnover and help create a more positive atmosphere.

Former Employee – worked at CDS Global
Pros – Good Training
Clean work place ie bathrooms, break room and hallways
Professionalism from management and staff
Fair compensation
Good morale amongst associates
Flexible work schedules
Cons – Would like to have had some Quality feedback during training, when starting to take phone calls.
Too much time lasped from coming to the floor until receiving feedback on Quality of calls. This would have been the first time any feedback was received on Quality.
Would have been nice to receive some discipline/performance guidelines during orientation or when supervisors come to the classroom to train on product specific items.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to maintain the high level of professionalism and confidentality. I would suggest presenting to new hires the Company guidelines on attendance, job performance, length of time before a temp status becomes a regular status and/or any other guidelines surrounding that decision. Some time alloted during orientation for a Human Resource person to do a presentation on those things, would be beneficial for everyone. "Spark" is an excellent communication tool for managers to associates and vice versa.
I enjoyed my tensure with CDS and it is my hope that sometime in the future I would be considered for rehire. Thank You.

Pros – Cds global has a good benefit package if you can get hired on full time.
Cons – Raises could be better and communication could be better
can be a rummor mill
Advice to Senior Management – I always thought it was keep the client we should be keeping the client happy and doing things they way they want. I always here make it faster and do more but when changes are made do we ask the client or do we just make changes to benefit us. Management does not know why are how certain jobs are done..

Pros – The best benefit about working at CDS Global is the flexibility of the hours. I like having the ability to go to an appointment or attending my child's school activities.
Cons – I have been very dissatisfied with the work environment every since the Boone office has taken on all the Red Oak magazines. We have had to double our work load, knowledge and skills with no compensation. As a result our personal stats have decreased greatly, but yet we are still expected to meet company statistics. We were also not given the proper training to take on all the new magazines until several months after we had been taking the calls. CDS is continuing to accept new clients and we do not have enough employees to handle all the calls.
I was very disappointed to find out that CDS had increased the base hire rate to $11- therefore giving all employees under the base pay a raise. This decision to give the employees a raise who had not previously earned their raise showed me that the employees that had previously met the expectation are not appreciated. Each employee at CDS has contributed to the success of the Boone office, yet we get no compansation for our hard work.
Advice to Senior Management – The rules and policies need to be the same for all employees in all departments.

Pros – Great benefits, friendly co-workers, good for families. Leader in the world of fulfillment is taking business from competitors.
Cons – Industry of print magazine is in an extreme downturn. This has affected CDS as a company. With ad revenue down magazines are shutting down. The small company feel of the past has been replaced with more of a corporate feel. Annual raises have been taken away at this point in time.
Advice to Senior Management – I would recomment making everyone feel as comfortable as possible until this bad ecconomy has the dust settle.
