I have been working at CEP America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are very, very good. Good compensation. PAs are treated as "almost" equals to the doctors.

    Cons

ER in general is stressful, this is no different.

    Advice to Management

May consider having employees work days OR nights, not both.

    Pros

Great learning opportunity for anybody interested in pursuing medicine or nursing.

    Cons

Poor pay and awful hours. Poor benefits. Scribe hours do not match assigned provider hours so expect to stay late and be over-worked.

    Advice to Management

Better match scribe hours with provider hours. Increase compensation and benefits.

I have been working at CEP America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They value greatly midlevel providers. Mostly excellent benefits including an awesome retirement plan. Flexible work schedule and the ability to work at more than one site if so desired. Self starters and really motivated/innovative employees can go far with this company. Team driven. Mostly wonderful people to work with. Most of the supervising physicians and medical directors will take great pains to help you to improve upon yourself.

    Cons

The midlevels are underpaid. If one is a midlevel, can never be a partner like the MDs or DOs, only employees. The focus is on productivity. If a site is "slipping" regarding this, then upper management steps in and the work environment suffers. It is impossible to please patients 100% of the time, but if the provider,, whether he/she be a midlevel or physician, has a consistent "poor patient satisfaction review,", there will be consequences, sometimes severe. If a site consistently is not profitable, they will withdraw from that site. Ultimately, it's all about money, as in many other companies rather than making the world a better place. Management will often be quite secretive about current situations or issues and will consistently keep you in the dark. CEP will go to great lengths to keep a contract despite the humans that keep that contract with a hospital functioning.

    Advice to Management

Keep the employees in the loop regarding any situations that are of consequence. Increase the pay to keep up with the cost of living and you'll keep experienced midlevels. Allow midlevels to be active partners instead of "just employees" at some level and you might actually see awesome things begin to happen within the company. PAs/NPs for the most part want to make a difference beside earning a paycheck. Allow them the opportunities to do so.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CEP America part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A job opportunity for the Desperate!

    Cons

When I joined as a Part time HOSPITALIST, was told there will be a Cap but am forced to see close to 30 patients some times. I got no training of EMR when I started. There is no structure, meetings are useless, no one hears you as its a small group and management's attitude is "My way or High way"

    Pros

Great company.. lots of great benefits and opportunity for leadership advancement if interested. Provides good CME for providers.

    Cons

Very site specific pending on where you are practicing at. in regards to compensation, hours/ scheduling, etc.

    Pros

Amazing providers to work with. Great way to learn new medical terminology

    Cons

Sometimes it got repetitive, the day to day could vary and you can only see one patient per hour.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

I worked at CEP America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

same comments as above. they establish a positive view of PAs as well as provided pathways to challenge their development

    Cons

I really do not have any crucial con's. I would suggest increasing the production compensation more since there can be a wide variance among very experienced/skilled and lesser so PAs

    Advice to Management

    expand

I have been working at CEP America part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience for pursuing a career in medicine. Does not get any better than ER scribe training. The doctors are great and are very knowledgable

    Cons

The only thing that could change would be better pay for the scribe position. Working 8 hours for $10/hour can be painful, but the experience gained and resume builder greatly outweighs the pay.
