Pros – If you are unfamiliar with the financial industry cer Financial provides a lot of training opportunities to become more familiar with the industry. We were offered regular training and incentives for meeting targets and working hard. The staff are knowledgeable and have a lot of experience. The social side of the job is excellent with many company outings. The chance for progression is based on how hard you work and what you achieve but if you do these things well it is very easy to progress. Overall, it was a fun place to work and a great experience for my resume.
Cons – There is a lot of cold calling. Essentially, that is what recruitment is. You are expected to always be on the phone looking for new leads and this can sometimes be a bit of a drag and make work boring. Unless you are committed to a career in sales i would not recommend doing this job. cer Financial itself is not different to other recruiters in this respect but above positive elements make it more bearable. A lot of your salary is commission based and as you progress the base salary does not get that high, just you percentage of your commission changes.
