I worked at CGI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Training good, management good, good growth, learned a lot, enjoyed my time there, it was a good first company to wok for.

    Cons

Company is much smaller now, more offsite work, it's been a while since I was there, not sure I know much about it right now.

    Pros

Friendly lower level employees. Some people actually really care about their work.

    Cons

bad management and VERY political. You need to kiss ass in order to climb the corporate ladder. There is absolutely no room for advancement what-so-ever. Some employees are overworked and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Stop caring so much about bonuses and start caring about how the business runs. The employees are the backbone to the company.

    Pros

Good travel package and good work-from-home plan.

    Cons

Too much red tape and senior management don't know what they are doing. Very limited training and knowledge sharing. Little opportunity for career growth and development. Okay benefits and salaries.

    Advice to Management

Give more attention and encouragement to your employees.

CGI Group - Not for the talented, ambitious American worker who can do much better at another company.

    Pros

Low stress; easy, non-demanding work; mostly work eight or less hours per day; little to no travel; the people who work there are mostly nice.

    Cons

Work is not challenging, and there is little to no career advancement; management is poor, and untrained, and often seems to be hiding bad news from employees (management is overly optimistic). Also, salaries are too low, with poor raises, and benefits. There is also too many non-Americans with visas working there, which is probably why salaries are low and the benefits aren't good (the non-Americans don't even realize they are being taken advantage of, when it comes to salaries and benefits). If you are American, you are definitely in a minority, and may feel alienated, and would probably make more money and receive better benefits at another compnay. CGI has abused the H -1B visa system, and uses off shore people as much as possible.

    Advice to Management

Management needs structured management training. For all employees, there needs to be a more structured process for advancement. Also, CGI needs to hire more Americans and less Aisians (I think it's anti-American, and in some cases illegal, to take jobs away from Americans by hiring lost cost foreign workers).
