    Pros

    Work life balance, not salary.

    Cons

The local management and being blackmailed to sign new contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask yourself why so many people are leaving. Is it an enforced new contract that you blackmail staff into signing, with the threat of no pay rises of promotion if they don't? YES. Is it the lack of support of staff at a cuštomer site? YES. Is it the way that staff get ignored by local childish management when they decide to leave? YES. Is it the constant hounding by HR about T&Cs? YES. Let's face it, your South West management have lost the plot.

I have been working at CGI Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Cynical and unimaginative senior management who are so far removed from the staff, that it does not really matter what you do as long as you are billable.

    Cons

Senior management have are cynical and scheming. Those of us who went for a promotion this year were only told after the process that we would have to sign a new contract to actually receive it, this was confirmed by minutes from the (lapdog) staff council. This was a deliberate and calculated action to coerce staff into signing a new and more restrictive contracts. What is the upside to staff?
I hear that all staff are going to be asked to sign new contracts here in the uk soon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ditch this toxic behaviour, build trust with employees.

    Pros

Lots of work. Never boring. I was always busy sometimes to the tune of 90 hours a week. If you work in Canada, it is not a bad deal.

    Cons

company values only money. they will work you to death for a profit and dump you when the project is done. No concern for people or their families at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Either have values or don't - clearly money is the one thing that matters, then give people more money and make that clear, but don't promote family when you don't mean it;.

    Pros

None as they keep cutting back benefits and incentives.

    Cons

Poor management, lack of training, leadership or supervision.... Only chance for promotion goes to the "yes sir" and not to progressive or innovative thinkers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need management with leadership skills. Someone that can step up to a client and not put the company at risk or contract in danger.

    Pros

They will give the opportunity to enter consulting industry and learn a marketable skill. You will also learn to appreciate other employees better.

    Cons

The company does not really care about employees and many employees do not care for the company. They will invest and compensate people as little as possible while having unreasonable expectations with little growth opportunity. It's a judgemental cutthroat environment, as management likes to quickly pass blame on subordinates, other managers and even clients. Management has integrity issues and may ask employees to lie.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try finding better quality people to manage your projects. You have self serving managers on payroll who are not working on or off site, and you also have employees doing side work for other consulting companies.

    Pros

Executives exhale carbon dioxide which plants need to breathe.

    Cons

Absolutely useless. They acquired our company, fired the best people, added incompetent managers to "help out".

Within two years, all the original people quit or were laid off. Most of us re-started as a new firm and got back our best clients from pre-acquisition.

CGI shareholders received no value for acquisition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Liquidate company and give money back to shareholders.

I have been working at CGI Group

    Pros

    Salary rate good above average

    Cons

No project work, no collaboration, people working in silos and not working in a team effort.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication needed. Management although told about the bad atmosphere in the office refuse to accept and believe nothing is wrong.

Good place where to start a career, no problems to contact people on higher levels, nice sinergy with other offices around the globe.

    Cons

Expect long commuting time, you can be sent to a client in Antwerp even if you live in Namur.
Learn hundreds of passwords for dozen of office applications.
Can stay on-the-bench for a long time.
