    Pros

Good pay and benefit package. Mostly current software and equipment as long as the management has planned correctly. I was allowed to do my work without much micro-management. I had a great chair to sit in all day.

    Cons

The company is concerned with the bottom-line without much regard to impact on the product or reputation. The company lost the contract with good reason. Management makes promises without consulting the experts.

    Advice to Management

Consult your experts before you promise the moon.

    Pros

Get to work with some really great people. I learn something new everyday.

    Cons

Need more opportunities to expand and grow within the company.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work and treat your employees as family; not a number.

    Pros

Flexibility of work/ability to work remote; fast paced never boring; nice people; easy to have good work life balance; founding principles are great.

    Cons

Sub-standard 401K plan, primarily due to being Canadian based and they feel it is off-set by the ability to contribute to a non-qualified plan. No room for advancement, no real career path because it is a consulting firm.

    Advice to Management

Honestly work for a day in a employee's role to get an idea of the reality; instead of surrounding yourselves with people who tell you what you want to hear.

    Pros

Morale of employees seemed good. Many friendly people that welcome new hires.
Some areas allow work from home a couple days per week.

    Cons

Lack of structure. I have worked in other similarly sized companies and they were all setup and managed a lot better.
    Unrealistic/unfavorable expectations of employees.
Management does not know the processes to get things done. Director was being too hands on when should be doing more management tasks.
Conflict with management was handled very poorly. Did not listen to employees, just dictated to them.
Compared to other large companies their processes are horrible. It is a hodgepodge of programs slapped together that do not work. Stuck about 10 years behind other companies. Change management for one.

Also with recent re-org people have titles of senior IT admins but they do not have the skillset of a senior IT admin.

    Advice to Management

Work on overall structure. Keep management out of the technical so much and concentrating on managing. Oncall structure was is that they expect you to be available 24x7 whether or not you were actually oncall or not.

    Pros

chill, relax, easy job. Although if you are put on one of the busier client project, you will work 60-80 hours a week without compensation for it.

    friendly environment, flexible schedule

    Cons

almost zero compensation for working hard, close to none recognition. You get exceed expectation review and will get the inflation rate raise of 2-3%. There is no career path here. They definitely under pay you compared to the other consulting company in the area by 20%.

    Pros

Takes risks in allowing employees to use creativity to come up with innovative solutions. Gave freedom to employees to self develop. Good management training. Grooms potential leaders to for future positions. I refused 20% pay increase to stay at current job, since I am happy there.

    Cons

Tight contractual budget means no raises. Healthcare kind of sucks, but that's seems to be how it is everywhere these days.

    Pros

They make an effort to support a work- life balance. Great employers for someone who has a family, and would like to work from home.

    Cons

Upper management is largely White, which reflects poorly on the ratio of non-white overall staff.

    Advice to Management

Consider providing opportunities for growth in more area than Business Analyst work.

    Pros

There are some great people to work with and there's no end of projects to get involved with. It's easy to work with the same people on different projects so you get to know your teams and co-workers.

The pay is market rate and there's a balance of CGI staff and contractors.

    Benefits are good.

    Cons

Getting pay raises and promoted is largely a function of being sponsored by someone senior and connected.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what's going on in your projects. Don't assume that the numbers tell the entire story because they rarely do.
