I worked at CH Mack full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A small company that the individual teams worked well within themselves. Associates within the team I was in worked well together and collaborated with one another to reach the goals set by the manager. The manner for the QA group (Bill Harman) was excellent.

    Cons

Upper management seemed to be disconnected from the activity of the teams within the organization and the problems faced by the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to focus on more than functionality. The installation tool and procedure were very poor with it taking days to do a since site install. The performance problems need to be addressed so the product can reliably run on a wan topology.

I worked at CH Mack full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I had some great co-workers.

    Cons

Everyone is on edge while waiting for the next round of layoffs. Of course, almost no one is left now. I knew things were bad when I found a proposal on the copy machine that misrepresented the company's size and the functions of its software.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out what the product needs and stick with it. Stop changing development plans all the time. It is obvious that the company is in desperate shape. Everyone is nervous. Try being honest for once.

I worked at CH Mack full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    CH Mack pays their employees.

    Cons

Management always blames the employees for not delivering a working product. But endless demos and constantly changing requirements keep changing the product. This is IT Management 101. A qualified management team would get it. But that doesn't exist at CH Mack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the management and sales team and hire a competent management team for once.

I worked at CH Mack full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some good coworkers. Good coworkers were one of the few good things about working at CH Mack.
Good industry. Health care IT is a growing market.
    Good technology.
    Pay and benefits were okay.

    Cons

Long, long hours are a way of life. You can go months without having a weekend off.
Little cooperation between departments. No one wants to take ownership of anything.
Very few new sales. It's depressing to work so hard and to have no one buy your product.
    Very few happy customers.
    Ugly, dated offices. (Hello 1980's.)
There is a new crisis everyday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a decision about the product and stick with it. Don't change direction every week.
