I worked at CH2M as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Safety is of prime concern and employees have the opportunity to serve on the safety committee. Company maintains good working relations with the client companies and values input from each employee.

    Cons

Long commute from home made it impossible to work and live in the same community. No opportunity to telecommute so it was necessary to rent an apartment near their location.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees to telecommute or at least to be able to take work home. Frequently employees may do their best work in the privacy of their own space without the distraction of fellow employees.

    Pros

Some great people to work with and some dead wood to work around, all in all an interesting place to work.

    Cons

Management always harps about how employee's are the most important resource the company has, yet pay is lower than most other companies in the same business.

    Advice to Management

Start paying people better and you might keep some of the more valuable employee's instead of loosing them to competitors.
