    Pros

The pay is good and the benefits are great as well. Some new management at the senior level promise positive change in the future.

    Cons

Middle management using intimidation as a tool rather than trying to understand the importance of what you have to say. Shift work ruins your sleep patterns. Working holidays and weekends constantly. Vacation time recently changed to 120 hours instead of 3 weeks. Losing 3 days off. Management has no helicopter experience and don't understand most of the common nomenclature.

    Advice to Management

Consider evaluating the managers with high turnover rate in their groups. Listen to the individual contributors. Engage employees and remove the fear or reprisal.

    Pros

The pay and benifits can be good, but if you can contract it is better.

    Cons

Your job being threatened by middle managers. Managers having subordinates do their work because they don't have the skills.

    Advice to Management

Look down the chain of command see what is going on

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Its a job!

    Cons

Shift work, and hr is terrible. No set rules for employees and all managers can change what rules there are to what they think is right.

    Advice to Management

Set up a better HR dept and treat all employees the same.

    I worked at CHC Helicopter

    Pros

Industry, Transformation, Upcoming IPO, Pay and Benefits, Experienced Professional Employees

    Cons

HR leadership, HR is slow to get things done because all decision making is done too far up and within the COE's. If you get on their bad side nothing gets done.

    Advice to Management

    Retain good employees.

    Pros

Pay is really good and the benefits are standard.

    Cons

Time off is lacking a little and the shift work is a little much sometimes with short handed staffing issues.

    Pros

Flexible work hours, decent benefits, for the most part good people work here.

    Cons

Poor upper management, unapproachable CEO - if he doesn't like someone, they're gone.

    Advice to Management

instead of laying off regular staff, give the CFO and CEO etc pay-cuts. The regular staff do the work anyway! Get Managers who actually care about staff versus the bottom line. Don't lie to staff; when things are bad, tell them, don't pretend all is OK and then secretly lay staff off. It doesn't boost morale and you lose good staff instead.

HR is awful. With the exception of a few good apples, the majority of staff in that department are only nice to people who can 'get them somewhere.' You need better, more approachable HR staff.

    Pros

    Decent pay and benefit program

    Cons

Management is unprofessional, talk terribly about people behind doors, coach managers to not be responsible for their reports, managers will lay you off if they look bad, HR does not support the employee at all, intimidation is huge

    Advice to Management

Get better coaching and be accountable!

    Cons

Poor management, Long hours 10-12 hrs days x 3-4 months non-stop, no time off in-lieu

    Advice to Management

Pay people for what they're worth

    Pros

Very interesting industry to work for, both in terms of the products and services and customers.

    Cons

Awful leadership team who are far less than scrupulous - trust no one.

    Advice to Management

Stop making it about yourself and make it about the quality of product and service and engagement of your employees.
