Pros
Open to change
management giving employees the ability to drive change with creative ideas
ability to partner cross functionally as well as with customers
Cons
predetermined job placement
work life balance
Advice to Senior Management
Give all employees the opportunity to show what they have to provide in the interview process and be considered for placement
Pros
Good people and a business model that is very profitable. Pay and benefits are above average and the focus on work/life balance is good.
Cons
Moving to a mature business with focus on process. Inconsistent leadership and turnover is high at a senior level. Business is no longer entrepreneurial. Slow decision making. Lack of any new product or service.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus less on cost cutting and more on growth. Speed up decision making processes. Keep senior people in jobs for more than a year or two.
Pros
There is a constant drive for improvement. Things are always in a constant state of change & challenge. Working at CHEP exposes you to a over 500 000 customers, multiple systems and more opportunity than any other organisation I know.
Cons
CHEP gets people ready to take on bigger and better roles. Sometimes this is outside of CHEP meaning we lose people which is sad.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep us on the course
Pros
great pay, freedom in the field, outstanding benefits
Cons
management is very cryptic, some managers don't have degrees and therefore hold it against their direct reports, if you dont live in Orlando its hard to stay in the loop
Advice to Senior Management
too much to list, but start taking a look at your mid level managers and their inexperience and lack of business accumen. Keep up the great executive leadership!
Pros
Location, PTO, Facility, Training, Pay
Cons
Very Bias, Only White and College Educated seem to get promoted. The rest have to fight twice as hard to get promoted. This place is very unfair and I can wait to find a new job.
Advice to Senior Management
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Pros
fast paced, professional growth opportunities, great people, PTO, Benefits, innovation, change, employee empowerment, great people to work with every day
Cons
work life balance needs to be looked at, accountability from some should be scrutinized, changes so quickly you have to be ready to switch gears at any moment
Advice to Senior Management
though growth, change and business evolution are inevitable, don't let the hard working people go unrecognized for their efforts. When people want opportunity to advance rear them into the roles they are looking for.
Pros
I love working at CHEP. My team is made up of incredibly talented people that all give 150%. The job is fast paced and it is what you make it. The benefits, PTO, etc. are top notch and the salary is too.
Cons
Everyone does more than their share of work. This environment is incredibly fast paced.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep communicating. Your efforts are showing!
Pros
Generous PTO, excellent benefits, mutual respect from most members of management. Multiple options to advance career. Fast paced work environment.
Cons
Often lacking direction from immediate management. Work / Life balance sucks badly. Repetitive work. Never praise, but make a mistake and suffer terribly.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on communication and position expectations. Listen to employees at all levels. Promote leadership. Reward employees. Allow for mistakes. Please.
Pros
Great place to work as far as benefits and flexible schedules are concerned.
Cons
Very demanding and you flip flop constantly. Focus on one thing one day and the next day something completely diffent. A lot of things are a waste of time and can be frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management
Show that you care about your employee's development a little more.
Pros
great background but overall mgnt style was poor
Cons
too large to manage themselves
Advice to Senior Management
follow your own rules and advice
