    Excessive travel at times. Poor leadership.

    Ask yourself, why are so many people in this business unit leaving? Is it those who left or those that are still around that are the issues. Maybe Solbar wasn't a good idea so own up to it.

    Great medical benefits, plenty of upward movement, quality products and service, growing.

    Cons

    Leadership lacks direction and openness. Communication isn't consistent. Lacks discipline and somewhat unprofessional.

    Pros

    The benefit packages are good. Wages are competitive. That is about all the pros that I can comment on for this company. I do like my job.

    Cons

    Immediate supervisor/dispatcher is less than professional. Allows irrelevant personal experiences to convolute his supervisoral decisions. Plays favorites and does not follow seniority protocols. Equipment is, from A-F, a C to a C- at best. Work load subject to dispatchers disgression.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Require communication classes and personal interaction training for supervisors. Anger management classes. Supervisors should be reviewed by a 3rd party bi-annually, to include anonymous feedback from employees and co-workers.

    Pros

    The company had a good benefit package. I was a local representative and was like a leased employee.

    Cons

    A lot of corporate bull. Meetings all the time. Corporate changed its mind several times. There was a kind of good ole boy network.
    That could be good or bad, depending on if you were in the network.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a life outside of CHS,Inc. Get exercise to enjoy all the money you will retire with.

    I worked at CHS Inc as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    They are in the beginning stages of change across the company. The strategy makes sense and there appears to be movement. The company will be transformed, in the right direction, I think.

    It's a professional environment. People are nice and seem happy for the most part.

    Cons

    In the IT department, it appears that there is a lack of overall strategic direction/leadership. Each department seems to be working independently and there seems to be a lot of conflict between teams. IT lacks a common goal, clear priorities and vision. Very reactionary and makes decisions based on "squeaky wheel" and politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    To IT Sr. leaders, clarify roles and responsibilities and communicate shared goals and expectations to help employees become empowered to make the right decisions at lower levels.

    Pros

    FTEs are typically passionate about the company and say that the salary/benefits are what keep them there.

    Cons

    The IT organization is extremely immature for a Fortune 100 company and relies heavily on Contractor’s for support. On boarding processes do not exist. There is a lot of dependency on tribal knowledge in IT and unfortunately a lot of that knowledge seems to walk out the door regularly with contractors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The relationship and expectations set between IT and the business units is the biggest single obstacle that I feel needs to be addressed as part of the sweeping changes being made throughout IT organization or the coming months.
