I have been working at CIBC Investor Services full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The only decent thing about working here is that you never take your work home with you. Punch in and punch out.

    Cons

Adhering to a strict schedule, especially if you're taking inbound calls.
The compensation is paltry at best. Most people here can't make ends meat on their own income. The practice of low pay leads to employee resentment which, in turn, breeds an undesirable culture.
There is a severe lack of career opportunities. Internally, you can either apply to be a supervisor (which is a dead-end position in and of itself) or you can apply to be an analyst with technology or another supporting department. Moving up or laterally outside of the line of business is harder than it should be for competent and productive employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Foster a better culture by providing attractive compensation as well as identifying and promoting top talent. This will create a better culture of employees excited and motivated to outperform.
