    Pros

Great opportunities to take on more responsibility in a growing line of buiness.

    Cons

Workload can be heavy at times. There is alot of hours to cover in a business that is becoming more like 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Good place to start working at the bank.

    Pros

    Gaining customer service experience.

    Cons

Most CIBC branches don't have chairs for CSRs. You have to stand and work on your feet all day. I believe Cibc should have chairs for CSRs like all other banks.

    Pros

New VP at eChannels hope to bring new positive change. Open door policy is promoted, decent hours but work load is still heavy. Location is very central (Dundas Street, Atrium on Bay). Overall, fun culture, people are generally supportive and want to do a good job. Compensation is regularly reviewed and adjusted. We are competitive (versus previous years). Pushing for innovation.

    Cons

Other parts of CIBC are not nearly as nice as eChannels. Very old fashioned banking mentality. Does not supprt work from home as part of their culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be like TD - make it part of your culture to introduce work from home option! Not all of us need to be in the office 5 days a week! Don't just say it is an option - make senior management practice it as well! Get with the future CIBC!

    Pros

working place fairness is secured, senior management is always there for listening anyone's complaints. Lots of chances to learn with senior management's encouragement.

    Cons

can't learn too many new front-edge technologies due to concerns of stability/security of in-house developed applications

    Pros

Decent work life balance. Being an FI the pay is very good although I may be able to go across st for more. Time off is decent.

    Cons

Politics there is sooo much! Work/life varies greatly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much politics which is creating waste in terms of the same project occurring in three places & time spent ensuring that people are aligned and that there is a escape goat/blame is elsewhere
Worst of this is the relationship between business & technology.

Current Employee - Senior Customer Service Representative

    Pros

9-5 job. Great benefits. Employee profit sharing program, bonus's at year's end. Customer's are always so great. Feels good to dress up everyday and show off at work. The only way I'll refer people is the scouting bonus they give... Every employee I know that works there say they feel over worked and under appriaciated.

    Cons

There can be snobby, stuck up woman. Bullies that the boss likes. Very judgemental, had a district manager that said an indian should either pick one indian or cowboy because he was wearing a cowboy hat and boots. If you make a complaint your scared to get fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you see someone doing all the work get others to help with the workload!!! Get up off your butt and help out too...Those people doing all the work give them raises!
