Pros
Job security, professional people, great benefits and discounts. They have no problem hiring from within and you can easily move up the ladder if you apply yourself and take extra courses.
Cons
The hours can be a bit demanding, and getting home at a decent dinner hour is sometimes difficult if you have late appointments or unfinished paperwork.
Advice to Senior Management
I always had wonderful branch managers, although, they sometimes seemed a bit stresses out and over worked.
Pros
work load is ok , colleagues are nice,
Cons
pay is so so compare with other banks
benefit is terrible,
company is not well managed
too much politics
some business people is rude
Advice to Senior Management
should improve the management skill
Pros
Above average pay in comparison to its peer groups
Good work-life balance, additional attractive benefits
Easy job to learn and master
Good location, all types of transportation are available
Incentive based pat scheme
Cons
A lot of repetitive call types, becomes boring and uneventful
Management is very micro-managed, treat employees literally like children that need to be monitored consistently
All the effort it takes to generate sales, revenues for the bank, little reward in return( bonuses)
Difficult to advance within, unless you know someone in a higher grade level position, in which you may be referred
Advice to Senior Management
Micro-managing will not lead to employee productivity, it will only lead to low employee morale and undue pressure for its workers. We are capable individuals who understand what is expected of us, and we don't need to be reminded of that constantly, it only annoys us and irritates us.
Pros
- You can learn alot from the people around you in IT
- Hours are decent, no one expects too much from you
- It's a decent place to work.
Cons
- My manager shouldn't have ever been hired to manage people. But she would have been amazing at managing just a process
- Compared to other companies, CIBC doesn't pay very well for annual salar, even though they continually tell you how lucky you are to get paid "so much"
Pros
I really love working here. They give you ample scope to grow, the atmosphere is very very friendly.
People are very helpful and the managemengt team is out of the world :)
Cons
Need to work on technology
Advice to Senior Management
I am very satisfied with my interaction with the management team at CIBC. They are very helpful , co-opeartive and understanding
Pros
Steady job - no problems with layoffs if doing a good job
Cons
just a number - unpersonal - very restricted
Advice to Senior Management
Management should be promoted for competence not because they are friends with senior mgmt
Pros
shift trading was easy, cafeteria food was good
Cons
a lot of office poliitcs and incompetent managers who only know you when you are making sales. Facilities at 750 lawrence west had no gym
Advice to Senior Management
Stop being fake with employees. Recognizing employees on their BAD and good days is key to maintaining a genuine and professional relationship.
Pros
(Technical jobs only)
It's a job. It will pay you bi-weekly pay-cheques which will help you pay for your bills and such. Sometimes you are in dire need for a job.
Good benefits package.
Cons
(Technical jobs only)
Don't apply if you are a developer and have work experience with Technology companies. You will be very unsatisfied.
Advice to Senior Management
(Technical jobs only)
Make it clear to the potential employee about the job expectations. Make sure that the employee actually understands what he/she will be doing , give them a clear understanding of the job.
Pros
- Work/Life Balance is great
- Industry experience is all around you to sponge from
Cons
- Little Team Collaboration
- Poor Compensation in comparison to other FI's
- Little Autonomy and Room to Grow
Advice to Senior Management
- Invest in your people
Pros
People are friendly and willing to teach you
Cons
HR is hard to handle.....Even if manager hires you HR will still jump out and question you......
Advice to Senior Management
Talk with your supervisor on the first day of your job and plan ahead......review your career path during every evaluation
