Pros
I have a manager that is very supportive and would work for her at any job! Not sure how long either of us have left at the company as a lot of people are being let go because of the financial problems and the continuing re-orgs that are occurring.
Cons
Senior management is new and doesn't have a clue on the history of the company. They are coming in with their high salaries and telling people to cut their budgets...layoff/fire good people. Too many re-orgs occuring and you don't know if you have a job from day to day - many people are looking for new jobs! CIBER will be left with non-productive people because they know that they cannot get jobs anywhere else!!!
Advice to Senior Management
Why does CIBER have a lot of Vice Presidents that don't have staff under them or just a few? How about slimming the top of the tower instead of the worker bees? There is so much talk about saving money yet you are still allowing people to go to conferences, travel to India, useless travel that you don't know about, ....what's next..counting the pencils? How about you senior management take a paycut?
You new senior management took the job at CIBER ...is it because you couldn't cut it at a better company? I'll be watching how long you last too...will you jump ship too?
Pros
They every so often will bring in a new manager who will actually be helpful, because the Ciber way is not yet engrained in them.
Cons
Recruiters lie (promised unlimited OT)
Does not provide salary increases, even when additional money and approval is give by contracting company.
Lack of communication.
Does not provided annual reviews as stated.
There is no respect for the worker
Only interested in bottom dollar - no business ethics
Advice to Senior Management
Show some respect for the people who make you your money. We work hard and when things don't go your way, you look after number 1 always.
Pros
Pay you on time, benefits are okay, they are flexible to put you in full-time optional benefit plan. The new organiztion structure hopefully improves with time.
Cons
Probably there are better companies out there to work for if you have got an option. There is no bonus pay whatsoever for past few years.
Advice to Senior Management
I don't blame the management. I guess it is just the nature of IT services companies in general. Once market improves I would like to see their moves.
Pros
Worldwide presence with travel opportunities
Cons
Not a lot of communication
Pros
Decent benefits, ESSP and PTO
Cons
No growth prospects. Incompetent middle management. No vision. CES division rife with favoritism.
Incompetent middle amnagement still there but good consultant's are all gone.
Advice to Senior Management
Change the middle management not the conultants. Re-evaluate the skillset of the middle management.
Pros
Good benefits package and startup salary.
Cons
No possibility of career advancement, senior management involvement, recongition or reviews. Senior management is detached from consultants.
Advice to Senior Management
More involvement is needed.
Pros
I have worked through Ciber for several years and have always received great reviews from my clients. Ciber was never great at communications back to the consultants but since they have gone through a total re-org of the business it is worse. No one knows who does what and they completely forget you even exist. I will be looking at other consulting firms for my next contract. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN ONCE YOU START AT CLIENT.
Cons
Benefits are good. Salary is Fair to Good.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize not only your FT internal employees (which I doubt you do) but you really need to treat your consultants who continually perform, much better. Who respresent Ciber to the clients with a high standard of performance and professionalism.
Better rates the longer you are working with Ciber, recognition of a job well done (which never happens) Oh and it would be nice if someone would reach out to me. I have worked at my client for close to a year and I have yet to have one manager or anyone even speak to me.
Pros
Can work from home, decent benifits
Cons
No standard review process, no salary increases, no training, no growth opportunities
Advice to Senior Management
concentrate on improving employee moral instead of only the bottom line.
Pros
CIBER pays good, professional colleagues with a lot of knowledge and a culture that takes every opportunity. CIBER NL used to be a small company, in which people know each other. In crisis time senior management NL performed a very good job.
Cons
Middle management doesn't recognise the amount of effort and work the consultants are doing, cost cutting was very severe and even childish, almost no opportunity to develop yourself, no wide variety of customers and promotions were on a "I like you more"-basis. CIBER NL also actively tracks people's online resumées, whether or not they break a contract clause (like relationship clause).
Advice to Senior Management
Know what's happening on the working floor, enforce a good people management from the middle management layer, invest more in consultant's growth and recognize the effort the employees are carrying out.
Pros
Pay and benefits are great.
Cons
Absolutely NO ADVANCEMENT opportunities for employees
Advice to Senior Management
Loyalty should be rewarded
