    Pros

The company is growing and provides training for possible advancement through tuition reimbursement and company training programs. Management generally assigns a task and the employees are expected to complete the task within a time frame. Management’s doors are always open and employees communicate openly between business units. The company and its employees are very charitable holding food drives and preforming community service on a regular basis. Great company to work for.

    Cons

The company is growing and in preparation for the growth or merger it has become top heavy in management and job title, given this and the potential merger some positions may be eliminated after acclimation. Performance appraisals are lengthy and time consuming for employees and management to complete, so they are generally rushed with not a lot of thought.

    Advice to Management

Encourage managers to determine employees careers goals and promote from within. Performance appraisals, monthly and quarterly reviews are a good time to communicate employee aspirations. Continue to grow responsibly.

I have been working at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not much turnover. Somewhat relaxed environment. Good benefits 6% 401K match, decent medical dental vision. Employee stock purchase plan. Lots of community service opportunities.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for advancement. The annual raises are a joke, you will get anywhere from 1-3% max. I got 1.5% this year. The annual bonus payout has gone down two years in a row despite monthly meetings telling us how great the company is doing and the great job our department is doing.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites. Make the work environment more fun. Nothing to spice up the workweek for a change. Engage your team, hell talk to your team members every once in a while. Increase the bonus and yearly raises when the team is outperforming plans.

    Pros

Management interested in growth and positioning for the future. Open environment where ideas are welcome. Compensation and advancement possible.

    Cons

Trying to move into the 21st century but difficult to get anything done. Highly regulated and very political for a small organization. Location a problem.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. Employees see through all the spin that goes on and realize the situation. Focus on the few growth markets that are out there and don't look for the home run.

    Pros

Company heading in the right direction since the bankruptcy filing. Offers competitive benefits package to employees. Provides perpetual educational programs to employees.

    Cons

Staffing in certain areas are very thin which leads to long hours, projects not meeting deadlines and low morale among employees.

    Advice to Management

Identify and replace poor performing managers. Management needs to better determine the appropriate staffing levels based on workload. "Too many chiefs not enough Indians".
