I worked at CIT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people. Solid company with 100+ year reputation. Financials are improving and showing positive signs since bankruptcy.

    Cons

Companies main purpose seems to be to make money for executive management. Key positions are filled from outside. Massive layoffs for offshoring or due to executive management changes. Livingston is a dump.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so greedy. Keep American jobs in America. Don't allow wholesale replacement of staff because a new department head arrived.

I worked at CIT full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

At the baseline employee level there are great co-workers willing to help each other and work together. They all support each other and stick together.

    Cons

Management is the worst. There is a major communication breakdown between the base employee and upper management. Too much politics and FDIC requirements to "...stay in compliance." This does not allow the employees to remain focused on their jobs, they spend way too much time having to document for the "management" and protect themselves to retain their positions.

    Advice to Management

Upper management, not middle, needs to listen to their lower level employees. Unbiased outside consultants should be brought in to shadow the lower level ranks for a month in key depts, i.e. Cust Ser, Collections, Premier, Fin. Adj., etc., as well as management. The "consultant" can then freely ask questions and interact with the employees to get a real feel for the "dissension among the ranks" in regards to how the Team Lead and Director positions are "micro-managing".

I have been working at CIT full-time

    Pros

The company is morphing and spending in maturity, both in IT and business side. Opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge of technologies and implement them.

    Cons

Below average pay compared to competitors. Too much on employee plates and management doesn't seem to want to invest in hiring. Always a "get it done" approach and little to no project management organization or talent.

    Advice to Management

slow down, build from the bottom up and don't try to do everything at once. That's a recipe for disaster.
