    Pros

Typical corporate headquarters. Able to get involved in many different projects, but that at times was also a con. Exposure to new things was wonderful. Diversity of operating companies led to many projects for similar things still having very different approaches as the needs were different.

    Cons

Management did very little to help guide a "career path" of any type. Feedback was very vague and a lot of focus on the negatives as I spoke with colleagues. Many wonderful co-workers came and went as the environment was very challenging to make a difference in. Seemed that the management team that was in place when the company moved from IL did well and it was hard to "join the club".

    Advice to Management

Improve work/life balance. There is a new CEO now from when I was there so perhaps things have changed.

  2. I wasn't that impressed with management.

    Pros

Tools I needed for my job were available without hesitation.

    Cons

Purchased the company I worked for, came in and told everyone that no one would be losing their jobs and within ten days conducted a layoff.

    Advice to Management

Be honest... don't say things and make promises that you can't keep. I even knew when it was said that no one would lose their jobs it wouldn't be true. Don't insult the intelligence of the employees.

    Pros

    -People were great
-Room for advancement if you work hard and are open to change
    -

    Cons

-Corporate's support concerning unfair management was nonexistent
-Raises are very low if any
-"Point" system for attendance was ridiculous...(Favorites were let off the hook, others fired instantly)

    Advice to Management

Get a hold of your management and work with the employees...They are the ones who keep the business going!

Constant Management changes, very poor communication and, ALL benefits

    Advice to Management

Develop a plan and stick to it, quit laying off worker/mid-management and start looking at your upper management.

    Pros

I really enjoyed what I was doing.

    Cons

Company kept such a tight control on the budget it was hard to create and/or move into new positions---even when those positions were needed. Everyone wore multiple hats and was expected to cover more than their typical "job description." This was great, in that you could branch out and learn more things but disappointing when if you had your sights set on higher goals.

    Advice to Management

Better develop and utilize in-house talent.

    Pros

I enjoy the people I work with, both in-office and remotely at the various business units. I find my work challenging but manageable. We have a very nice office space with plenty of windows/natural light.

    Cons

The culture is very old-school/traditional. With the new CEO things have eased up slightly - we are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays now, but the "business casual" dress code still applies to shoes/tops so it's not quite a "Casual Friday" atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

All the upper-management is extremely approachable. It was intimidating to be surrounded by VPs when I first began but everyone has proven to be very friendly.

    Pros

It was a Stable job. Weekly pay was the best part! I Enjoyed work when things ran smoothly.

    Cons

This pace is an absolute joke.
-If you are a woman, there is NO opportunity for growth at all. They will jerk you around and tell you things you want to hear, then flat out deceive you and act like nothing happened.
-IF you even get a raise, it will be about $0.30 every year.
-Most management is awful. Even up to high floor management, will cuss, bash you in front of your department or to other employees, and yell at you but will deny it if you go to HR. Nothing is done to management but a slap on the wrist, if that. They will get rid of good employees who ask questions and try to get a better work environment.
    - Attendance policy is terrible.
    - HR doesn't care with NO open door policy. (They say they do, but having experience being harassed by upper management, HR did nothing to help me. )
    - Benefits are poor and so expensive.
    - job was very stressful because of terrible scheduling conflicts. We would often not have things needed to complete a job. Then we would be punished and told it was our fault for not changing over quick of enough.
    - lack of acknowledgement. No matter how good you do, it's almost impossible to get a "good job" out of anyone.
    - Machines are bad quality and break down often. Most are rigged and pieced together, and are very frustrating. Engineers would often be on the floor to improve machines, but wouldn't listen to a thing the operators, who work it everyday, had to say.

    Advice to Management

Fix management problems and raise moral. I enjoyed the work, when everything went well, and tried my best when it wasn't but they don't seem to care for employees. Listen to employees and take advice of them.
