    Pros

Great products and pricing. Very nice office headquarters. Peaople are nice and good atmosphere. Good suuport from management

    Cons

If you do not produce enough (sometimes that happens) the underwriters would take very long to do your files. CMG needs to hire more underwriters. Most complaints from loan officers (unless you are a very top producer) are regarding processing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more processors to back up all LOs, not just the few who are super producers

I have been working at CMG Financial full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Family atmosphere amongst trench workers. Benefits are Great! Sometimes weekly potlucks

    Cons

Mis-management. No Reviews. No raises. too much nepotism. zero accountability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

come up with a self review system that involves setting goals, keeping track of the goals, and having real-time training to be able to perform job function correctly. Working here for so many years/months and not one review nor raise is disheartening and overwhelmingly spirit-crushing. Taking suggestions from the workforce seriously. The mangement could learn a great deal from the employees if the employees didn't have the fear of getting fired/ laid off.

I have been working at CMG Financial

    Pros

People are nice and friendly here, the CEO is a humble guy, and the company is undergoing an exciting time of growth and expansion. The company culture makes you feel like you're working with and for your friends.

    Cons

Hard work doesn't go unnoticed, but it doesn't get rewarded either. Promotions and raises are not as steady or common as they should be. Working overtime is not allowed. If you have more work to do, you must come in on a weekend and receive regular pay. If you have to work on a holiday, you will also receive regular pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Praises are not the same thing as raises. Your compliments will not pay the bills or feed a family. There needs to be better incentives for hard workers to continue to work hard.

I have been working at CMG Financial full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefits, Management, Growth, Culture, Training

    Cons

Benefits, Time -off, Building Construction, Parking, perks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I love to come to work every day! The culture is beyond any company I have worked for! I have worked here for almost 3 years. The senior management promotes growth within the company. I have been able to grow into a position where I love to come to work each day.

    Pros

Advancement and pay. Benefits okay. Leadership has high ideals and says all the right stuff.

    Cons

Daily stress level about an 8 sometimes a 10 (1 lowest 10 highest). 3 top level management left within 6 months and replacements were not same caliber. Scottsdale Fulfillment Center hired a branch manager to replace Branch Manager that moved on. Currently (as May 2014) replacement Branch Mngr no longer at CMG. Underwriters crying and over worked and under trained. Can't reach bonus if you are not doing FHA streamlines or have 13 years of experience. Files submitted are awful. Registration does good job, however, Account Managers have no authority to clear very simple conditions and unable to identify satisfactory PTD conditions to submitted for underwriter to clear. Average touches per file are 5-7 before files goes to closing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire professional third party underwriting instructors to train all underwriters and managers.

I worked at CMG Financial full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Since the intelligence level of most managers is well below industry standards, it's easy to stand out. The equipment is modern and the facilities are top-notch.

    Cons

There are a core group of managers / decision makers that have been with the company since its inception. If you are not one of those individuals, you are considered an outsider and ostracized. Executive management are used to being the "big fish in a small pond" - but they have no concept of industry best-practices; or, methods of operations inherently different than what exists in their limited world. Most (existing) mangers are small-minded and myopic. The CEO is not involved and trusts the COO to manage the day-to-day operations. Unfortunately, the COO is not very bright and is almost as neat as she thinks she is. Her ego and lack of real world experience are the primary causes of this company's dysfunction. Benefits are extraordinarily expensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break up the core management team and introduce new thought structures into the company. Trust your managers. The COO has too much power and influence and the CEO needs to become more involved. His mission and vision are non-existent. You took a step in the right direction my hiring the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer - but that move in and of itself is woefully inadequate to address the dysfunctional culture that currently exists.
