    Pros

This is a great place to work because of its leadership. The CEO is the best in the business.

    Cons

There some long-time employes who lack new ways of thinking. And it is an incredibly hierarchical organization.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great benefits!

    Pros

Part timw hours available...work with your schedule in the beginning. Nice people.

    Cons

In training...they don't tell you that about 80% of the time you cant help the customers because they need to contact the credit union specifically BUT they expect you to lie to them and tell them that you are from the credit union. Also, tons of calls...they get annoyed if you are off the phone at all, even to use the rest room. You are timed so to speak. Weekly meetings are awesome, but the scheduling people usually take them away due to high call volume so you have no idea when you are actually going to get to speak with your sup or if you are doing good or not.

    Advice to Management

more breaks...at least 5-10 minutes, allow people to use the restroom...pay increases for dealing with so much screaming from the customer because we cant help them most of the time. Give the team leads something to do...they are usually sitting around laughing BUT when you need them for help they are rude to you.

    Pros

CO-OP truly focuses on the employee, from an excellent benefits package and ongoing training, to numerous (fun) events building camraderie and teamwork. Executive team is always available, highly engaged and very supportive.

    Cons

People can tend to work a lot due to workload (nothing new), but the company focuses a lot on the importance of work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

No advice. They listen and provide support.

    Pros

They work with your schedule if you are in school, they give performance based incentives, the starting pay is good for a call center.

    Cons

Call volume is extremely high hard to breathe between calls, meetings with your manager every week on what you are doing wrong, they spy on you and what you are doing in emails and on computer, rarely want you away from the phones even if it's to use the bathroom

    Advice to Management

It's not necessary to beat up your employees in weekly meetings.

    Pros

The line of work is rewarding but it really doesn't matter when you get bullied.

    Cons

Repeated, unreasonable actions against individuals intended to intimidate, degrade, humiliate, or undermine the employees.
Co-op misuses their power and it has created defenselessness and injustice towards their workers. They make repeated attacks against everything creating an on-going pattern of itr. Excessive monitoring and micro-managing. Being given work unrealistic deadlines and get treated differently. Everything is corrupt with Co-op especially in their call center. The department is designed to rigged and put the employee in a disadvantage because they don't want to spend a extra dime. High turnover rate gee...I wonder why???? They're excuse is that its because of the nature of the department or the line of work that's why there's high turn over rate. Sounds like a excuse to me to cover up the surface instead of getting to the root of the problem. This is high stress creating depression type of a job.
Staff turnover and sick leave is HIGH and morale is LOW..

    Advice to Management

Encourage open door policies; Investigate the extent and nature of the problem. Conduct employee attitude surveys; Improve management’s ability and sensitivity towards dealing with and responding to conflicts; and TRAIN YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM PROPERLY!

    Pros

In Southfield the non-management level people are friendly and co-operative.

    Cons

Money is more important than employees and oddly, even more important than the customers. The current slogan is "Of You. For You." but the actions hurt the member credit unions and hurt their customers. We converted from a poor teller platform to one that was worse, increasing the time that customers stand in line and limiting the information available to them. We closed branches and cut their hours instead of trying to generate business. The new platform can't identify criminals who pass bad checks and hampers credit unions that try to track transactions at our standalone branches. People who worked to document the problems so they could be fixed were terminated.

    Advice to Management

Do what is right, not what is cheap. Grow a spine and tell Rancho Cucamonga and Georgia when they are wrong.

    Pros

Senior level management is highly respected in the industry and within the company itself. Although I was not in the corporate office, the leadership was very accessible and frequently visited the site the show their support. Benefits were AWESOME!!!

    Cons

The only downside, if there was one, was that the company's experience with this line of business was somewhat limited.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! You are a group of leaders that is greatly admired by others in the industry and by your employees.
