COMSYS IT Partners Sales Executive in Dallas, TX:   (Current Employee)

Pros

it is a challenging enviroment, there is a demand for our services. the training was thorough and will prepare you initially.

Cons

it is a catty environment and their is a lot of favoritism concerning who acquires certain accounts. this is not necessarily performance based, just based on whom managment favors.

Advice to Senior Management

continously train and treat employees as if this is a career; not that they are dispensible. the industry does have a lot of job hoppers but this environment in not conducive for long term employment.

COMSYS IT Partners IT Consultant:   (Current Employee)

Pros

They always pay on time and their base pay is higher than their competitors. The managers try to maintain a close relationship with the clients

Cons

There is no career path and you are considered just a prospect based on project. Do not invest in training of consultants

Advice to Senior Management

Invest in your consultants and provide an internal career path to enable employees to stay for longer periods of employment

- If you loss contract, they won't help you to get new one or you are out of work.
- No performance review system whatsoever.

Advice to Senior Management

- Be more helpful to employee and their benefits.
- They are bringing money fro company, give them some share like bonus

COMSYS IT Partners BSA in Portland, OR:   (Current Employee)

Pros

The have some good connections to local big companies.

Cons

The only communication with my contacts is around future project plans (aka extension possibilities) and getting your time cards done on time. You are called consultants but you are just just 'bookable hours', and it is so transparent.

Advice to Senior Management

You need to do a little more than be a preferred provide, post a request, and collect your money.

COMSYS IT Partners Consultant in Everett, WA:   (Current Employee)

I don't know

Pros

As a consulting company, they can get me work quickly. I can barely rate the company because they only pay me. My real experience is with the company I am outsourced to. Comsys pays every other week, and is easy to reach on the phone or in email. They respond to my questions quickly and efficiently. At hire, it was not explained to me that there would be no paid time off, and I forgot to ask. In the past, an employee would be compensated for the lack of paid time off, or get paid time off, and because I forgot to ask, I got neither.

Cons

The downside is zero benefits of any kind. As a consultant, I am taking on more risk, and trading for better pay because I don't have long term security, paid benefits, and employee stock option plans. I forgot to take this into account with my original salary negotiation, and now I feel my pay is well below others in my industry doing the same work.

Advice to Senior Management

Pros

I currently make more here at Comsys than I have made anywhere else.

Cons

They are starting to lay off people for being on the bench, yet the sales people can't seem to find any business. They should be the ones getting let go.

Advice to Senior Management

I would tell them they shouldn't have purchased Praeos, if they are going to let everyone of them go!

COMSYS IT Partners Director in San Francisco, CA:   (Past Employee - 2006)

Pros

The compensation is good if you are a producer. As a sales person, you have the opportunity to sell up to the Director and Vice President level which can be very helpful to your career. You also get a lot of exposure to many different verticals. Comsys is probably strongest staffing for hi-tech clients. There is also an opportunity to grow into a management role where you can manage people, P&L, operations, etc. If you enjoy the staffing and recruiting industry, then Comsys is a good company to work for, which is located around the US, so there is also opportunity to move locations if needed.

Cons

The business space of staff augmentation is becoming more and more competitive. It is very difficult to have direct client relationships anymore. Too much of staff augmentation is now done through vendor management systems which takes away from the enjoyment of serving clients directly. There is not much career training within Comsys, so much of the knowledge you will gain is through on the job experience. Often times it seems that the leadership team makes decisions which are not driven by data. The only other down side is that you will only get a chance to sell staff augmentation. Comsys tries to sell project services, but it is really just staff augmentation teams. You will never get exposure to selling turn-key projects.

Advice to Senior Management

Offer more training to the internal staff.

COMSYS IT Partners Senior Tax Analyst in Phoenix, AZ:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

If you are a consultant Comsys might work well for you because you have the ability to work in different industries and companies. Depending on who your manager is the overall culture of the company is that you have the flexibility to manage your schedule as long as you get your job done.

Cons

Communication within the organization is very poor. This seems to come from upper management. If you need information from another department to do your job you will be surprised on how long this will take to obtain most of the time. Additionally, getting the support you need to develop your skills will also be challenging. The benefits are one of the worst. Unless you are part of upper management don't expect a bonus regardless of how well the company is doing. Health and dental insurance is very expensive for the employees.

Advice to Senior Management

Your employees would be more willing to go out of their way to help the company succeed if they felt appreciated. The little things you can do can go a long way. Pinching pennies, although it helps your budget, hurts your employees' moral and therefore productivity.

COMSYS IT Partners Recruiter in Campbell, CA:   (Past Employee - 2006)

Pros

Benefits are decent and potential to make good money.

Cons

Poor branch management, poor account management, and weak sales pipeline. Recruiters were thrown under the bus when potential job placements weren't closed when account managers should have taken more accountability.

Advice to Senior Management

Fair treatment for both account managers and recruiters. Create a team atmosphere instead of fostering a hostile environment between recruiters and account managers.
