    Pros

Great coworkers and managers. Everyone worked as a team and lots of knowledgable people within the company.

    Cons

Unstable company with the worst nepatism I have ever seen. Upper management plays favorites with people.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better and let them advance their career.

    Pros

The people I work with are nice. Almost everyone has offices. The perks like half days are good.

    Cons

They are a coal company trying to be a gas company. Drilling expenses are too high. Need to retire coal people and get more gas experience in.

I worked at CONSOL Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits, half day Fridays, good coworkers(many are not there anymore though)

    Cons

You can never settle down because they are always transferring you or laying you off. Poor management. Layoffs left mostly managers left and a lot of them should have been let go. Many managers are only looking out for their interests and not the companies, hence the downfall of CONSOL. Get rid of the people that do the work and leave people that sit in endless meetings each day that mostly are unproductive. No communication within groups because the managers either don't get along with the other managers or they are trying to withhold info so they are more powerful. This may be a result of everyone always scared they will be laid off or transferred. Most people that read from the outside may think this is a bitter former employee that was laid off, but if you worked there you would know exactly what I am talking about.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing, they don't listen anyways.

I worked at CONSOL Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive wages, decent health and dental care, matching 401K up to 6%, administrative jobs are in a nice office setting.

    Cons

Not enough employees to do all the work there is, everyone is overworked and have too many responsibilities. Employees are not treated as the most valuable asset at this company and morale is very, very poor.

    Advice to Management

In trying to concentrate on the stockholders' needs by increasing the ROA, you have neglected your employees and by doing so you are affecting the company's overall performance and in turn negatively impacting your stockholders. You do not have enough administrative a.k.a. non-essential employees to operate a corporation of this size and scope, resulting in neglected duties, jury rigged solutions to get things done and serious morale issues.
