Pros
supportive available staff, very friendly
Cons
no benefits at all, straight hourly rate. Didn't even get paid for Christmas.
Advice to Senior Management
Organization should provide at least a few holidays and sick pay to all employees.
Pros
Gets you in the door of a large IT company
Gives you a taste of working for a large IT company without having to be a full-timer
Cons
Recruiters there don't seem to take their jobs seriously; mine got my start date wrong and then came up with a bunch of excuses for her mistake. Meanwhile I'm out another week's salary... Additionally, she gave me the wrong dates and times for interviews, and gave me the wrong end date for the contract...Also, I heard from others who worked with Corestaff as contractors that my experience was similar to theirs.
Advice to Senior Management
Train your people to be more upfront and knowledgeable.
Pros
No growth potential or opportunity for growth
Cons
Pay could have been better.
Advice to Senior Management
Company is no longer open
Pros
I enjoyed my assignment and pay.
Cons
too bad this is not permanent job...
Pros
- Flexible with time off
-Good communication with fellow co-workers and direct level management
-Good exposure working with clients in various industries
Cons
- Not enough tools for professional/personal development
- Bonus structure obsolete for recruiters even if you generate a new client, and fill a position
- Sr. Management top heavy yet very lean in the individual offices
- Old IT infrastructure
Advice to Senior Management
Pay for performance
Pros
Prior manangement was very supportive and communicated about the future of the company. It was a team atmosphere that motivated employess to do well.
Cons
In the current environment there is no communication from senior management about the state of the company or future goals. Politics have taken over and the "workers" are left out of the mix.
Advice to Senior Management
Some focus should be on the employees and there should be communication so that people feel like they are working for the greater good. No communication = no motivation. At some point "just being lucky to have a job" isn't going to cut it.
Pros
Had one decent manager while there.
Cons
Region was run in a very top-heavy way. The regional manager surrounded himself with an abundance of assistants, VP's and managers while the branch itself - the moneymakers - were staffed by one or two. This More importantly, if a recruiter uncovered a permanent need for a client and filled that need, the commission would go to the sales manager whose account it was - even though they had no knowledge of the need. Salary was extremely low, no quality of life, etc.
Advice to Senior Management
I've heard that some offices have closed and they've had to streamline staff, it was not all economy.
Pros
It's just an average work environment
Cons
I dont' think it invest enough in its employees
Advice to Senior Management
Work Harder
Pros
provide one week vacation every 1200 hours
Cons
The benefits totally stink here at Corestaff
Pros
nice office space with good convenient location. a few of the employees are nice friendly people to work with and that's about it.
Cons
Some of the worst systems ever. Technology used in offices for CRM is DOS based. Who is still using DOS??? Servers are so slow that it is impossible to do one's job. The desktops are not even PCs but dumb terminals. Spent more time with the HELP DESK because software is full of problems. Personnel stability does not exist. management not interested in listening to employee concerns. Collaboration not exist. For a company which works so closely with the Human Resources community, their own HR policies are completely lacking in inspiration. Benefits poor.
Advice to Senior Management
choose better quality of people as leaders. work with employees instead of just recycling them. There is a complete absence of training, especially for recruiters who have a rather low fill rate in some sectors. Not enough empowerment of employees. Get some technology that works.
