    Pros

Rewarding work - Council provides endless opportunities for making a positive impact and difference in the community. Paid education and training - Council will help pay to further education and has a strong emphasis on trainings and pays you to go. Room for advancement - With hard work and desire to grow, there are many opportunities to advance in a career! Excellent benefits - Great health insurance, retirement, and other benefits.

    Cons

Serves 9 counties in Ohio, Central Office is centrally located in Piqua, but is a decent distance from outlying areas. (They do pay mileage though).

    Advice to Management

Keep up the positive work - the executive director has built upon the past and done many positive things, and keep in that direction.

    Pros

If they have money left from their grant, they will help pay for school (but you do have to commit 3 years to working there). They pay gas mileage to home visitors and when employees go to and from trainings.

    Cons

Upper management does not care about their employees. No support from supervisors. No raises and low pay. Terrible health insurance. Have observed favoritism. Overly bombarded with work. Sometimes, expected to do work outside of your job description. Upper management will keep things, about the company (such as grants, etc...) from the employees. Very low morale. Very stressful place to work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, respect what they have to say, and respond to them honestly and appropriately. Give all employees yearly raises to show them they are appreciated and an important part of the company. Upper management needs to shadow employees (especially home visitors) to see what their job entails; you judge before you really know how much work they do, which is a lot! Upper management needs some kind of training on how to appropriately supervise/manage, support, empathize with, and respect their employees.

Best educational and social service practices for Early Childhood and Adolescent educational practices.

    Cons

Limited funding makes it difficult to reward seasoned professionals commensurate with their experience and credentials.

    Advice to Management

Keep to basic strategy, work on non-monetary recognition and rewards.

    Pros

Opportunity to assist families and children. Updated trainings. Summers off. Started with good benefits...sick time...vacation days. Adequate insurance. Retirement benefits.

    Cons

Growing disconnect between management and center staff. Extreme variations in work environment. Low recognition for good work performance. Unrealistic expectations by some management members.

    Advice to Management

Walk a mile in the shoes of center staff. Deal with employees not performing instead of making more policies and punishing good workers.

    Pros

    1. Summers off, pension plan, life insurance, vacation and sick time. Employee assistance plan

    Cons

Lack of communication from uppermanagement to field centers. Vacation time more of a token reward little time to use it. More about money and numbers not people. No real grevience policy for workers.

    Advice to Management

Improve communications. Put in place an actual grevience policy in affect, one that is fair to employee and employer,

    Pros

Some good people to work with as fellow employees caught in a company who illegally reassesses payroll funding to suit their personal ideals.

    Cons

the company applies yearly for cost of living increase for employees, and when they recieve it, they apply it to higher management, leaving the true workers out in the cold. Poor and misleading company built on misguided standards and broken promises.

    Advice to Management

Be honest, and avert the funding as you recieve it to where it is intended. Good luck on your next internal reviews.
