Great company before it was acquired by CPES

Administrator (Former Employee)
Santa Maria, CA

I worked at CPES full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThere is great internal reward for helping those in need. Some of the services offered are high quality thanks to the investment of the managers currently employed. Mid-level management appreciate each other.

ConsThere are few benefits offered and no bonuses.
The Work/Life Balance is not balanced for most management level positions.
The company is in process of re-organization and lay-offs, so stability and morale are poor.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

BHPP

Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (Former Employee)
Tucson, AZ

I worked at CPES full-time for more than a year

ProsClients were wonderful to work with and so were most of the employees. It was fun learning and understanding how to work with clients with SMI and DD.

ConsThere was little to no opportunity for advancement with in the company and wages were low. Many times staff had to work much longer then scheduled or fill in for shifts when other staff did not show or if the Site Supervisor/ Service coordinator did not schedule anyone. The SS/SC's were condescending and deceptive towards staff when staff came to them with issues concerning clients, behavioral health guidelines, progress notes, and, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementMove PTO back to 7 months after hire date rather than 1 year. Maybe give some respect to your workers.
