    Pros

Company culture, really fun environment that knows how to mix both work and play. Acknowledge success and a very supportive, innovative place to be. Up to date if not ahead of the game with technology and always looking to open new doors. Health and wellness benefits and catered lunch every Thursday. Also always open to new ideas and suggestions from employees!

    Cons

Can be limiting in terms of salary.

    Advice to Management

CPXi is such an awesome company and fun place to work that doesn't make it feel like you are going to work everyday however it would be nice to bump up the salary for employees a bit especially those who are worthy of reward.

    Pros

It was a great young work environment that made everyone feel included and still got a lot done

    Cons

Sometimes there was not a lot of work to do for the interns. But that is normal at any company

    Pros

    - There are some really great people working at CPXi. It wasn't at all unusual for employees to spend all day working together and then spend a fair bit of time in the kitchens hanging out after work. Some of the other reviewers have called it clique-y but I think its more about finding people you get along with. - Great experience. There's a LOT of work that needs doing at CPXi, and if you like getting your hands dirty (and the execs will let you) you can learn a lot. There's a ton of fire-fighting and quick course-changes (see below), so you can really hone a lot of important soft skills. - Typical internet company bennies - beer and video games in the kitchen, snacks and drinks, work from home if you need it (in most cases), etc. - Solid business model. Leaving out some of the more half-baked initiatives, there's actually a few very solid revenue streams at CPXi which could easily be scaled quite nicely with some effective planning and organization. - Did I mention how great some of the people are? Seriously, there are people busting their humps to make this place run.

    Cons

No company only has ONE problem and CPXi has it's share (being in Times Sq sucks) but the big elephant in the room here is the senior management. Few of them have worked anywhere else but CPXi or for themselves, and unfortunately that lack of experience really shows. Specifically: - They don't know what they don't know. Many of them do have solid skills in certain areas, but generally speaking they fall into the "just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous" category, which leads to a lot of unrealistic and unstated expectations, especially around technology and revenue. - Extremely short horizon. If they do any type of long-range planning or road-mapping, they don't share it with anyone but themselves, so most groups have to operate on a very short timeline. If something isn't ready to sell to customers or profitable in the first month it's scrapped, leading to a lot of started projects but very few finished ones. Even allegedly high-priority requests routinely get pushed aside for the "next big thing". - Loyalty goes up, not down. There's a lot of lip-service paid to being an "employee-facing company" but at the end of the day, there's a definite sense coming from the c-suite that the free beer and lack of a dress code gives them the right to squeeze as much as they can out of you before they move on. I've seen MANY good employees who've done nothing but good work, even for several years, let go because either "they don't produce anything" (despite the fact that it's the same execs who prevent them from actually finishing anything) or "the numbers are shaky this quarter".

    Advice to Management

CPXi isn't 20 people in a room anymore. You need to look up from the day-to-day and focus on big picture stuff because you're driving everyone beneath you crazy and pushing them on to saner pastures. When they say "you can have it fast, cheap, or right; pick two", that means TWO. Fast, cheap, AND right does not exist, so stop trying to find get rich quick schemes. You have some good ideas and products, let them mature the way they should.

I worked at CPXi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free snacks and convenient location. Apple lap tops and multiple screens. Not much else to say here.

    Cons

Horrible place for woman. All uper management is male. They've had the same people there forever and excuse poor behavior and poor performance. Instead of letting go of bad managers or perofrmers they reorganize teams constantly. Turnover is crazy.

    Advice to Management

Hire a proper HR, promote or hire more high level women, and have more review for employees.

I have been working at CPXi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Support: The managers are there for your support. They make sure they offer you all of the tools you need to learn and develop in the position you are in. If they see that something is not working out, they take a different approach to make the situation better. Even my co-workers are more than willing to help answer my questions. Office Culture: Everyone is young (b/w 20-30) which is great because it is like working with your friends everyday. The dress code is pretty casual but you will see people in suits when they have a client meeting or presentation. We all have desks with multiple screens and great MacBook Airs. It is also nice seeing other people from different divisions in the kitchen and getting to know them. Health Benefits: CPXi makes sure that their employees are happy. That seems to be their top priority. Our health benefits are amazing especially now that they are offering us premium base plans. - Full health, dental, vision - $500 yearly gym reimbursement Company Benefits/Facilities: The NYC facilities are awesome! I seriously love stepping into the office. - Fully-stocked kitchen - Ping-pong - Video-games - Beer on tap - Nespresso/Starbucks machines - Catered Lunch on Thursdays Time off: We definitely get enough vacation days / work from home / sick days. It is prorated to how long you have worked there but that seems completely fair.

    Cons

This is a great company and they offer so many benefits but I guess that is the trade off for lower pay. According to Salary.com, someone in my position and in this area would be making $5-$10K more than I am making now. However, I feel like CPXi offers ways to grow and grow quickly. I also think that the gym reimbursement should be a bit higher, especially in NYC. It is only about $40 a month which is nowhere close to what it actually costs. To go to a decent gym is around $100/mo. Although they have company rates to NYC Sports Club, those facilities are a little gross. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week, so to me it is worth getting that extra reimbursement.

I have been working at CPXi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

So many it may be hard to remember them all - Insane employee benefits, perks programs, bonuses, retirement contributions, tons of food (vegans welcome), 4 beer taps, Sodastream, Starbucks and Nespresso machines, ping pong, Xbox, Playstations, etc, etc, etc. Employees give feedback to their managers quarterly and vice versa, and there is very little bureaucracy or BS. After an acquisition in Seattle and a new office opening in New Orleans and some company reorganization earlier this year the team now seems even more "together" than ever. Basically if you like to have fun while always striving to improve and be the best you can be, this is a place for you. If you want a place you can coast or hide, then you will not like it here.

    Cons

Not a lot - training in some groups is fair at best, but seems to be improving. Things move fast here and sometimes communication could be better, but not an ongoing issue.

    Advice to Management

Keep going with what works, the vibe is great and we seem to be hitting on all cylinders now. We've won 3 awards this year for Best Places to Work, so don't fix it because it's not broken! Thanks!!

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Good company culture with a lot of perks in the office e.g. video games, free food, beer etc Great location right near Times Square Easy enough to communicate amongst other workers with a mostly friendly environment

    Cons

Completely incompetent HR department Turnover rate proved to be ridiculous considering beginning and end of employment Difficult to get in touch with upper management Interview process was the most disorganized experience I've ever had from top to bottom, no one ever seemed to be on the same page Not very good compensation for the amount and level of work being done

    Advice to Management

Get more organized and actually respond to emails. Correct the level of incompetency in HR department.
