    Pros

You have a personal life working here.
Coworkers desire only the best for you.
    Intelligent and collaborative workplace.
You'll have a lot of technical experience.
Health insurance and food card are great.

    Cons

Compensation is lower than it could be.
You will only get a raise if you open your mouth asking for it.
Making your carreer to grow is very slow and the raises are disappointing.
When necessary, they ask for extra effort, and if you reject for some reason, it is bad seen.
Technically, their software development could have better quality like code review, continuous integration, automated tests, and user interface.

    Advice to Management

Consider giving a raise to great workers that demonstrates good results even they don't say if you are able to do that keeping the balance between all your employees.
Making decisions impact on lots of work, assert that what you are asking people to do will really be something useful, otherwise collaborators will have a bad feeling for that lost work.
Listen and understand what your employees want for their next years and make a plan together with them, you might also know someone with expertise on an area that you didn't realized.

    Pros

CpqD is a place to work mainly because it has a good environment to work. It is a company to learn too much.

    Cons

The planning of carrier is not so good. The HR is trying to get better results but the things happens slowly, it must become better in order to retain people.

    Pros

There are several opportunities to learn, some occasional opportunities to travel for training and presenting research papers on academic or industry conferences.

    Cons

There are no clear career paths. Most senior employees are accommodated and have little incentive to grow. Do not reward merit. Salaries are below average. Management don't know well the knowledge or skills of the employees. Management don't listen to younger / less experienced employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to younger / less experienced employees.

    Cons

I don't have any cons to make public.

  7. Helpful (1)

    Pros

I thought that the average income the company pays was good until I took a glimpse at the job opportunities outside.
So even the only one advantage I could mention was found as a huge disadvantage for the employee.

    Cons

    - lack of transparency from board of directors
    - no feedback from management
    - forget about career growing
    - There is no effort to retain talents. Unfortunately, adm works well for hiring only, but it doesn't perform any program to retain or motivate employees.
    - salary

    Advice to Management

CPqD Foundation (direction) should make better efforts to hold the title of a qualified research center, but it has lately chosen to become a software house regardless of its intelectual legacy, which is being dismissed or missed to the IT market.

    Pros

    - Nice work environment
    - People disposed to help
    - Since the beginning I was involved in the project, so I could learn more with my training(adapting) weeks.

    Cons

    - Lack of international projects (the company used to be public in the beginning, only now it's private, so the clients don't very too much)

    Focus on inovation and R&D
    Calm workplace

    Cons

The salaries are below the average in the area.
Upper management decisions sometimes are not good to some projects' development.

    Advice to Management

Hear the employees a bit more, care more about what they think about the salaries.

    Pros

Company encourages employees to study for their MBA, MSc and PhD degrees, and gives some hours a week to employees take classes outside the campus of company.

    Cons

Underpayment to the newbies due to high payments to old ones. Asymmetries on workload.

    Advice to Management

Despite the fact CPqD is a Foundation, transparency in all management levels would be improved.

    Pros

Good opportunity to study, some international travels, good techinical courses, always working with the state of the art. Good for inexperienced.

    Cons

Lack of grow opportinities, processes to slow, very difficult to buy things.
Lots of efforts just to show the visitors some demosntrations that have no pratical use.

    Advice to Management

Please, came to Earth. No company in world can survive with this mentality. Stop think that we can always make the best projects in shorter time. We can't,
